Acid Reign - Part Ways With Drummer Marc Jackson

British thrash metal legends Acid Reign have announced that they have parted ways with longtime drummer Marc Jackson, who is now the drummer for Venom Inc.. Jackson's split from Acid Reign comes more than two years after guitarist Paul Chanter left the band and was replaced by Matt Smith.

Marc Jackson wrote: "Man…Where do I start… Not an easy decision to make, but for the sake of the band and my friends, the right one… From the very start, that phone call from H asking me if I’d be interested in playing in Acid Reign and responding with “well…I’ll have to check you’s out, because I’ve never really heard of ya”, to then meeting up and talking for hours about what was going on in life as if we’d been friends for years, to the first jam we had in a rehearsal studio in Leeds, to not having a full band, but determined to find the rest of the band somewhere out there in the world, to going from that to having a full band, to releasing two singles, to recording the first Acid Reign album in years, to headlining the Sophie Lancaster stage, which is a huge memory in my mind and then the first show after lockdown to a full crowd of Motherly Love arm waving maniacs at Bloodstock festival playing on the main stage…Absolutely crazy! My time in Acid Reign wasn’t just being in a band and playing music, it was finding true friends who were/are passionate about music and we were all there for each other as a team. Throughout ups and downs, we were there for one another. So for me this is not an easy decision as H, Matt, Cooky and Pete are my friends, I just didn’t think it was fair to keep them waiting for me to be available as I’m so busy with Venom Inc. I will always love these guys and we’ll always be in touch. As for the fans of Acid Reign, what can I say, you’re all crazy! Witnessing the support you provide for the band and how you all just let loose at any Acid Reign show was an absolute pleasure to see! Thank you all for your support, understanding and everything else. Here’s to the future of the Apple Core and to my friends H, Cooky, Matt and Pete. Thank you."
