Gojira - French Tour Dates Announced
French progressive/death metallers Gojira will embark on a headlining tour in France in January/February 2009. The band also posted the following US tour update on their MySpace:
"Gojira are currently in the United States rampaging about in all major cities with In Flames. Drummer Mario Duplantier recently told Radio France International about their first show in North America: "We arrived in Montreal where we had a great and warm welcome, just as usual, we noticed that the people from Quebec seem to like French bands in general. This first show at Metropolis was sold out and people were very enthusiastc and wild during our show, we felt somewhat overwhelmed by the crowd's energy... that was awesome! We really need to go back there for a headlining show next time!."
He added: "Our set-list is pretty different from when we play in Europe, we are openers here. So we just play 35 minutes every night and that's a little bit frustrating with 4 albums of songs to choose from. We try to strike a balance between the more accessible tracks and the more violent ones, also, when we only have such a short playing time, we're just trying to be efficient and straight to the point."
Gojira will hit the road again in February 2009 for a full headlining tour in France :

And shit, the date in my city is the same day when I leave home one week to go to the ski  . Probably I shall go to the previous date for not missing this tour.

I wonder if they'll headline in the US for this album, it sucks I would have to suffer through In Flames and All That Remains to see them this year.

I'd love to see a US headlining tour with these guys. they are a force live. I would have seen them when they where here with In Flames but their set would have been short and there's 2 1/2 bad bands there with them
