Leaves' Eyes are a great band. Which album/EP do you like best or which is your favourite. Mine is still Lovelorn. Please share your thoughs.

i heard a few mp3s off the 2nd album and it didn't seem as good as the first one so didn't bother to get it. the first album's great though. As good as the early theater of tragedy stuff even if leave's eyes is in a more pop direction

I prefer Vinland Saga (2nd one), less Alex' growls - don't like it very much. Lovelorn is also great, though. For the EPs, I haven't heard Legend Land yet, but I read it's quite the same as Vinland Saga and Elegy EP.

I am in love with Lovelorn Nearly all songs are perfect but my favourite are the first 2: Norwegian Love Song and Tale Of The Sea Maid.

Have you guys heard Legend Land yet? I just got it a few days ago and have listened a few times but it seems as good as Lovelorn. The same dreamy atmosphere enhanced with killer riffs.

I am SO excited for their US tour with Blind Guardian. I hope they play lots of songs from Lovelorn since I, too, did not like Vinland Saga very much (a few good songs only). I have a feeling they'll be GREAT live

You're joking. I'd love to see that! My boyfriend and I are are hoping to go to Germany for Wacken next year. We both love Blind Guardian, but I'm also a Leaves' Eyes fan. They're touring here in September doing an Atrocity/Leaves' Eyes gig so looking forward to that one at least.

I wish I'd known. I'd have been there in September.

Anyway, this band is fucking great. It's really beautiful music. Lyrinan described it best with "dreamy atmosphere enhanced with killer riffs". I've got Lovelorn, Elegy EP, Vinland Saga, and Legend Land EP, and I cannot choose a favourite. They're all bloody brilliant. My favourite song over all would have to be Misseri(Turn Green Meadows Into Grey). I prefer her voice in Leaves' Eyes much more then her work with Theatre Of Tragedy.

Mine is Lovelorn. It's the first I heard. Liv has a fantastic voice - sometimes so sweet it makes you wanna give her a hug, sometimes so powerful it takes your breath away. My favourite song is The Dream because there's a certain someone that I'd love to play it to and be on that "little island" with but she doesn't know. Ahem...LOLs uncomfortably.

I've not actually heard too much Leaves' Eyes (just a few casual listens of 'Vinland Saga'), but I'm really looking forward to their Australian tour. Shall be great .

Well I'll go with Vinald Saga. I love almost every song on that album, especially Farewell Proud Men, Solemn Sea, Vinland Saga and Leaves Eyes. Liv really growed on her vocals if you listen to her since first Theatre of Tragedy EP. I love Lovelorn as well, but there are songs that tedn to get boring to me if I repetetively listen to them.

Great band! Wow Liv Kristine's voice is soooo beyond heavenly!

I don't like to judge a band based on only one album, but Vinland Saga was a disappointment to me. Liv's voice just isn't powerful enough, imo - though its definitely pleasant.

I'll check Lovelorn and Legend Land eventually, but I don't have the highest hopes.

Yes I will be ordering some tickets to the show here in Masschusetts, I think it's a great combination of bands. Hopefully with the Kamelot / Epica tour this fall and now the B.G. / Leaves Eyes tour it will expose this type of music to more US metal fans !

I enjoy several tracks from each Leaves Eyes release, so I just hope they pick the ones I like As long as they play Oceans Way and Misseri I'll be pleased though!

You should do so, but without a bad feeling before. Concerning Liv's voice, her goal is not to be power but calm and "atmospheric" with a power instrumental background (it's Atrocity after all). Hope you'll enjoy them.

They are a great band I discovered a few days/ Her voice fits the music perfectly. One of the best voices in this style of music. Elegy is a great song.

Liv proved to be a very dynamic vocalist, also with her new solo album she showed a different side from her. I like Vinland Saga, because of the story and the atmospheric elements.
Now her now for 5 years or something and she still amazes me;)

Great band, I have "Lovelorn" and "Vinland Saga" both albums are excellent. The atmosphere they create with their music is awesome, and of course Liv's voice make the music even better

Kristen's vocals are gentle, soft and pretty angelic sounding, which is a more than suitable voice for the music this band play. Krull though, his growls are far too unrefined and rough for the music of Leaves' Eyes and I think it ruins the listening experience when he comes in.

Aside from that, the band are good to listen to. I think I perfer Lovelorn over Vinland Saga. I don't know really, both are good albums. The self titled track off Lovelorn is so beautiful though. So relaxing to listen to when you need to calm down. I wish I could see LE live though. The US gets 'em with Blind Guardian, Oz gets them with Atrocity blah blah blah...

Kristen is fresh. The songs are very good. It is a promising band. I wish the best for them. I hope they come in Greece one day

I agree with Daru Jericho. Kristen's vocals are great and matches their music perfectly, but the growls are too rough...

I personally loved Vinland Saga, and I see this new EP as no more than a worthy appetizer waiting for their next Full-Length

I used to listen to their first album (Lovelorn) a lot, but now I don't find them interesting. They are nothing special really, except Liv which is a great singer and has such lovely voice

I seriously cannot stop listening to the new EP. All songs are amazing but Skraelings is probably my new favourite song in the world The melody hooks me immediately and I get a nice emotional response to it. That, and, all the musicians seem to be at peak performance here. Vikings Word is also a new Leaves' Eyes favourite; it's the first time I REALLY appreciated Alexander's vocals, they're so integral to the song. And, of course, the title track is worthy as well.

Strangely enough, I have come to appreicate Vinland Saga as well. I think last year I voted for it in the "Biggest Letdown" section of the MS awards. Needless to say I've REALLY changed my opinion of it

I have Lovelorn and Vinland Saga, i prefer Lovelorn but vinland saga has got beutifuls songs with a perfect atmospheric like "Elegy".Abt Ep there're good, Legend Land are my favorite, it's so interesting.

I've had seem them in Brazil Atrocity/Leaves' Eyes , that was the best show of year so many good.:thumbup:

Maybe planned to go to Raismes fest...but no idea how to get there easily from Holland...so let's see

yeah the new EP is so amazing. the songs are just so great. everything is perfect. vocals (both), guitars, orchestration. too bad it is an EP, i would have wished for a full album of this quality stuff

Havent heard much by Leaves, but I saw a few of their videos (They have a few posted up on their site)

I really really liked Elegy (Not the video, but the song is really superb)

The Video is pretty decent.

The Into Your Light video was pretty crappy. The vox and music are ossom, but Liv Kristine looked like w hore in the video. Didnt really admire the video.

But Leaves Eyes kicks ass! (Said the power metal freak. I Love power! )

I think Liv did not look like whore....she looked very beautiful....in case noone has not yet noticed....she is a very pretty lady......and both their videos I have seen...Into Your Light and Elegy are well done......
