Very refreshing album compared to the other melodeath crap that was released around this time. Alvestam's vocals are superb here. Can't stop listening to this album after 4 years.

Definitely an amazing album! I had to buy this album a few years ago after seeing "The Illusionist" video on a Metal hammer promo compilation DVD, and it definitely didnt disappoint! Amazing vocals from Christian Alvestam, memorable melodies, great riffs, and some dazzling twin lead guitar work by Jonas Kjellgren and Per Nilsson make this a classic album in its genre.

Although I love all their albums to a degree, this one is the best, and a shining example of melodeath at it's finest.

I prefer this album over Holographic Universe (which is the only other Scar Symmetry album I have).

This was one of my first five extreme metal albums and really peaked my interest in the genre. I'd kill for more like this.

This was one of my favourite albums for a long time back around 2010-2014 time. 'The Illusionist' is especially fun to practice vocals too (Älvestam is an insanely talented vocalist!), and the guitar work fantastic, difficult to nail the solos but great fun to play (Nilsson is an outstanding guitarist). The bonus tracks on this are fantastic, so I would consider the special edition to be the definitive one.

9.2/10 for me - 'The Illusionist' is the standout track. Tracks 2, 8-10 and 12-13 are also great. 'Calculate The Apocalypse' and 'Dreaming 24/7' are the weakest songs on this.

I don't know why but i just couldn't get into this album even though i so badly wanted to after listening to Holographic Universe. Maybe it was the mixing or production or probably just that the album felt uninspired in spite of having so many good ideas
