Shit... I don't wanna miss this year's edition! Great bands so far, and I know it will get better.

lol You don't have good festivals in Brazil?
By chance, the only one we got here this time is Rock in Rio, first time in 10 years that this festrival came back, uh, to Rio. Tons of pop artists and there isn't any bands in the line up that really excites me, Coheed and Cambria maybe; Sepultura, Angra and Tarja, I have already seen before recently and I didn't find that good; and the others, I'm indifferent to. There was a votation to choose the next Rock attraction, I was wishing for Eric Clapton, but Linkin Park and (new) Guns n' Roses won... Urgh.
We got a few nice concerts in Rio this Year, but the chances of having a Festival with artists like Opeth, Anathema, Tiamat, Ihsahn and Kalmah together here in Brazil is below 0

That's a shame because the Brazilian audience is amazing. Maybe it's the promoters who need to do a better job.
I know about Rock in Rio, because we, the Portuguese, have been stealing that from you

We don't have enough divulgation, the all the rock radios vanished, plus the disadvantage of not being part of Europe...
Ive heard of Metal promoters getting injuries, concerts cancelled, at least here in Rio...

In fact, when the RiR made the first edition in Portugal, there was a ad here about a group of portugueses that arrive to Brazil to go to Rock in Rio, then they realized that it would be in Portugal

lol We have had some good metal bands. I've only been to one Rock in Rio but it's been generally good.

I'm afraid the line-up is closed, unless there are some last minute changes.

Does Nevermore being no more counts? (I'm laughing, but on the inside I'm crying and my heart crushed)
Devin Townsend covering for them. I'd say it's a pretty nice substitution. He's awesome live.

I know... It's awful. I wanted to see them so much and it would be my first time. Very disappointing.
Have you heard something about Devin playing here or is that wishful thinking?
I'm considering not doing to the second day at all unless they announce a band I really like.

It was announced early today or yesterday I think. http://www.vagosopenair.eu/index_en.php
Nevermore was the only band I was excited about the second day as well. Either way, I dont wanna miss Opeth so I'll try to be there. Not sure if it's possible though.

Thanks for the edit btw
I didn't know, you told me firsthand.
In this case, I'm really considering going to the second day. I know I'll be there for the first. If you go, we can meet up!

Anytime!
Of course! If I manage to go I'll tell you something.
About the second day, Devin is a pretty good reason to go too, but if I can manage it will be only one day so I'm gonna take the effort for Opeth, since I never saw them live... Besides, there's also Anathema.
