I still remember the day when I first saw Nervecell's video "Human Chaos" on TV, six years ago, they really pissed me off! I couldn't stand their music, it was too noisy for me, and I hated the fact that they were Arabs doing metal, I just couldn't accept that, why!? Mmmmm because I was too stupid, thinking like that.

Psychogenocide is Nervecell's second full length album, including ten tracks, two of them are instrumental such as the intro of the album "Anemic Assurgency" in which they used an "Oud," a transitional oriental instrument; I think it was the best way to start this album. The other track is "The Taste Of Betrayal," a cool slow relaxing track. For all who enjoyed Preaching Venom, their debut, I am happy to tell you that Nervecell did even a greater album this time: they didn't change their own unique style, but they've matured a lot musically. The whole album is rich with kickass riffs, a few oriental ones, and all the tracks are basically more technical, brutal, deathy, and thrashy, with deeper growls, and very impressive drumming work made by their session member David Haley (of Psycroptic).

The first thing that can be noted about the album is that the song "Shunq (To The Despaired ...King Of Darkness)" stands out as one of the best epic masterpieces of the album. With a mix of Arabic and English lyrics, it features Karl Sanders (of Nile) the god of mixing Egyptian themes with metal. It should be an epic song right!? Right!? Karl Sanders + Nervecell + Arabic\English lyrics = WIN.

Overall Psychogenocide is definitely one of the strongest death metal albums this year, and clearly one of the best albums and stand outs from the Middle-East in 2011.
