Varg Vikernes - French Trial Postponed
Here we go again. BBC News is reporting that Burzum's Varg "Count Grishnakh" Vikernes's trial in France has been postponed to June 2014 after his lawyer requested more time to read documents and prepare his defense today. He is facing charges of inciting racial hatred and exalting war crimes on the Internet this time. On his blog, where he posts frequently, Vikernes confirmed that he would be in Paris for the trial on October 17th.
The Norwegian was previously arrested and accused of planning a terrorist act after his wife, a licensed gun holder, bought weapons. French authorities later conceded there was no plot and the two were released.
He will be tried on incitement charges related to postings on his blog which prosecutors say were "anti-Semitic and xenophobic". Through his writings he promotes what he calls "Odalism", an ideology based on the idea that White Europeans should re-adopt "native European values".
In August, Varg announced his plan to sue the French authorities for what he called a "brutal" arrest of him and his pregnant wife and asked for financial contributions for it as well. Does he even have time to write music anymore?
