Twisted Sister - To Embark On Farewell Tour, Mike Portnoy On Drums
Hard rockers Twisted Sister just announced that they will do a farewell tour in 2016. The group decided to call it quits one week before A. J. Pero's sudden death from a heart attack. Twisted Sister will embark on the Forty And Fuck It Tour in 2016 with none other than Mike Portnoy (ex-Dream Theater, Adrenaline Mob, The Winery Dogs) filling in on drums for the final tour, as well as two tribute shows to Pero this year.
Also, this is not the first time Portnoy has filled in for a deceased band member, as he temporarily took over for Avenged Sevenfold's Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan back in 2010.
Twisted Sister will headline "A Concert To Honor AJ Pero" on June 13th at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey. Tickets, priced at $45, go on sale today.
