Folk Metal is somewhat a "new" genre in the scene, and I think that the recent explosion and success of the style is because people are tired of listening the same repetitive bands over and over again, like many other Metalheads, I find Folk Metal refreshing and very original, with bands like Cruachan, Elvenking, Skyclad and Tuatha De Danann stealing the spotlight, it was a matter of time until new bands show up. Dunno what to think, but I think this is most metal album from this band, it has an old school touch into it and also folk elements , unique... wood people like me will understand it

I had half of these songs about 15 years ago and liked them back then so I decided to get the full album recently. There's a lot of great stuff: guitar parts, folk instrumentation, atmosphere, half of the writing, and there is a good pacing/structure to the album. There's a lot of much-less-than-great stuff: the majority of the vocals, some of the lyrics, and the other half of the writing. Overall it's still pretty good and it's a fun look back to when Korpiklaani and Finnish folk metal in general were hitting their stride. Mother Earth is a song that I could listen to on repeat for like 5 hours.
