Manowar - To Embark On Farewell Tour
U.S. metallers Manowar have some sad news for their fans today. They will embark on a farewell tour or what they are calling their "final battle". The tour will begin in Germany (with dates yet to be revealed) and take them all over the world to say goodbye to their fans. So, it seems like they are calling it quits, or putting down their swords, after more than 30 years as a band.
Here is their full statement: "The Gods And Kings Tour was a groundbreaking moment in our career. The stage, sound, video and you, our fans, were magnificent! Coming off such an amazing tour it was clear that the next time we must go even bigger and beyond anything we have ever done; something that will fulfill every Manowarrior's dreams. Then that will be the ultimate moment to say Thank You and farewell!

Good choise to quit. Considering how the band has been doing with recent albums and in live vids they sound tired. Have to admit in 80s the band kicked ass, when other bands played, Manowar killed

I have been a fan of the band for about 12 years now, and this is the first time i have seen them talkning about calling it quits. It just seems that your post is a reflection of your hate/disgust with the band, and therefore it seems like you are not stating actual facts, but rather lie about them to hate the "modern" Manowar even more  But i would love to read a valid source talking about them retiring (besides this new one)

He's just outing an expectation that, considering Manowar's love for money, isn't unrealistic. And an obscene love for money (high prices, obsolete rerecordings...) could be a reason to hate a band. Wouldn't you agree? So this man isn't lying. He's just displaying his (negative) passion towards this band. Nothing wrong with that, right? Oh, and just for the record, I'm not in the business of hating bands.

This is sad news. Whether you hate the band or not. Manowar was big for the genre. They are a band that always valued their fans and tried to give bigger and better shows. I don't get the claims that they are "greedy for money" when they haven't sold out in such a way as to gain enormous amounts of money like other bands have. Totally unfounded, even if you didn't like their recent albums. Hail and Kill!
