The band's statement reads as follows: "We regret to announce that Thomas Winkler is no longer a member of Gloryhammer. All upcoming shows (including the UK Tour with Alestorm) will continue as planned, with a new vocalist. For the Eternal Glory of Dundee."
Winkler issued this statement on his Instagram: "Dear friends and fans of Gloryhammer, this morning I received an e-mail from the band, informing me that they want to part ways with me. As a reason they mentioned disagreements on business and organizational matters.
"I am at a loss for words. The only thing I can say is that I regard this as a bad decision for every party involved - the band as well as myself, and especially you, the fans. It's hard to believe that our concert at Bloodstock Festival last Sunday suddenly turns out to be our last show together.
"After getting used to this new situation, I promise you that I will use the split as a chance to embark on a quest to new musical shores in the future, still to be settled in the rock and metal realm.
"In the meantime, I will keep you updated and hope you stay in touch. I appreciate the great support you gave me over the last ten years. Without you, this wouldn't have been the same."

I'm not privy to anything about this band but this sounds like shady stuff going down in the background. Getting fired over email after basically a decade is the scummiest shit I can think of, regardless of what anyone did or did not do.

Definitely iffy. They need to kill Angus McFife as well now. His voice and personality are integral parts to the band.

That sucks, I liked his voice. Let's hope he finds another good band to join and also let's hope Gloryhammer has a good replacement going

This sucks.. Unique voice and a great frontman. He made Gloryhammer stand out. Hope to see him in another band. Awful by the band to just send a email about kicking him out..

Thomas Winkler's voice was the main reason I liked Gloryhammer. He made them stand out from other power metal bands. I guess Gloryhammer are finished unceremoniously over greedy money reasons.

Metalsucks just posted a pretty scathing article about this and allegations of abuse and racism with the band. Not a great look for the remaining members! After the Iced Earth drama in the beginning of the year, I'm glad its a band I don't like this time! Unfortunately 2021 has not been a good year for Power Metal.

Wth, I don't like power metal but Gloryhammer has some fun stuffs that I occasionally like listening to. I do like his voice as well. Guess I'll not bother to listen to this in the future

I gave Gloryhammer a try out of curiosity and I kept on listening because of Winkler's voice. Admittedly, guitar work is great and most of the compositions are cheesy but interesting enough, but Winkler was the standing point for me.

Thomas' voice was what drew me to the band to begin with. Without him, it makes me extremely skeptical of the band's future, especially if they fired him for bogus reasons.

As a non-fan, I feel bad for the fans. Winkler's vocals were great on albums and totally killer live as well, from what I've heard. Terrible news.
