Also I wouldn't call Helstar and Mordred forgotten or unknown.

Definitely wouldn't call Sortilège forgotten, they're still having a good amount of success here in their home country

Well, in the age of the internet, we are lucky to know bands from all over the world so a band like Sortilege is not unknown anymore. Also Chuck Schuldiner was seen wearing a Sortilège T-shirt so a lot of people got curious about that and tried to listen to the band. He even borrowed one of their riffs in a song, I forgot which though.

There's some bands in your list that I need to check out, some I've never heard of and some are already in my overlong "gonna-give-a-listen"-list.
I don't want to be that guy but I wouldn't classify Axe as a metal band. Great band with some of my favourite melodic rock songs but not metal and i'm not sure how forgotten they are. In melodic rock/AOR circles they are often mentioned.

Yes you are right it’s like Blue Oyster Cult, Journey and Molly Hatchet some hard rock melodic, but in nemesis you can find a heavy melodic version of the band. I think Axe with this artwork lyrics and songs can classify in the way hard melodic.

Great list, but can be endless. I have few recommendation for you, a true, more or less, forgotten gem. You are probably young person, but for some of them, i am sure, you know.
Angel Dust - To Dust You Will Decay
1988 Thrash legend from Germany
Aria - Герой Асфальта
1987 Iron Maiden from Russia
Crimson Glory - Transcendence
1988 One and only Midnight, impressive singer
Fifth Angel - Fifth Angel
1986 One of my favorite US power metal album
Gravestone - Victim Of Chains
1984 When progressive rock band progress in true heavy metal on a German way
Grim Reaper - See You In Hell
1984 One of the best NWOBHM album
Obsession - Methods Of Madness
1987 Mike Vescera, singer, true legend, at his best
Reactor - Rather Dead Than Dishonoured
1991 Where Angel Dust stop, Reactor continue
Scanner - Hypertrace
1988 True power metal from Germany before flower power metal
Shok Paris - Steel And Starlight
1987 For me the best US power metal band. They had everything to be stars, great singer, great songs, exist in right time, and do nothing
Sinner - Danger Zone
1984 You know Mat Sinner, legendary bassist from Primal Fear? 15 years before Primal Fear he do one of the best heavy metal album from Germany
