Lucifer's Fall - Announce Indefinite Hiatus And Upcoming Split

Sad news for fans of doom 'n' roll band Lucifer's Fall. Vocalist Philip Howlett aka Deceiver, announced on April 4 an indefinite hiatus for the band. He "quits" the band because he does not "want to play live anymore". However, he and his fellow band members will still perform a number of live shows over the next few months. In addition, Lucifer's Fall announce two upcoming releases: a split with Eldritch Rites and an EP called Children Of The Night.

Deceiver's statement continuies with: "Further discussions today have opened the possibility of Lucifer's Fall continuing ad a recording only band. That may or may not happen. Personally I'd be happy with doing some more recordings in the future but there is definitely no guarantee. Happily the other guys have decided most likely to forge on with a new band so we'll see what happens there."

Though it's very disappointing to say goodbye to Deceiver's unique vocal style, hopefully the other musicians will continue with their work. As mentioned, there is an upcoming split which is set to release sometime in June/July.

This news comes a bit late as it was already announced in April, but I was on a whim checking their Facebook page and was confused when the newest post mentioned "last four shows". "Last"? When scrolling down through their posts I found the disappointing news.

Hopefully they can somehow continue their project even if the singer feels too uncomfortable to perform live. These guys are severely underrated and I haven't found another band with this unique sound.

Well, at least there'll still be that split and EP to look forward to. One track has already been revealed: "The Asylum / Graveyard Rising", reportedly recorded in the same sessions as their 2021 album III - From The Deep and continuing with the same subject matter of Cthulhu. After 1 minute of acoustic intro, their signature style kicks in: Doom riffs galore and Deceiver's preaching vocals! Enjoy the video
