This was surprisingly underwhelming for me.

I wouldn't call this one bad, but it's pretty generic and straightforward modern Flotsam. Wouldn't it be nice if they started experimenting with the songwriting and maybe had, for example, some slower parts, different lyrical concepts, production or atmosphere other than just the usual "in your face".

You've got a lot of guts. Let's see what they look like!

Not bad at all, but this song is definitely more focused on speed, heaviness and brutality compared to the last couple of albums' more melodic fast/heavy approach. I guess with a song title like that it's to be expected.

I agree. I've always loved Flotsam's slower sections on their past albums. Need more of that.

Don’t think I’ve cared about anything these guys have done since Doomsday For The Deceiver and this does nothing to change my opinion.

Unsurprisingly bland and unengenging.

Even No Place for Disgrace? I thought that was their best album.

I agree. That is one of my favorite albums by them.

I couldn't agree more. While I love their first two albums, the technicality/progressive textures on some of their post-'88 albums is unfuckwithable.

This new song isn't bad after all IMHO.

Yeah, Metal Rasputin nailed it. When every song is more "in your face," it gets tedious. Overkill is another band that has been doing this on their later albums. They had some great ballads on their old albums (ex: "Years of Decay" and "Soulitude") as has Flotsam ("Escape From Within" and "E.M.T.E.K"). Need songs like those to add a little variety.

Flotsam's Dreams of Death and The Cold are the last albums that did this very well.
