i keep hearing these names
"blah blah is deathcore, blah blah is deathgrind, blah blah EMOcore"
Its kind of annoying as I don't listen to that stuff and don't know the intricacies .. its just a big pile of death-grind-gore-core. No offense intended to people who listen to these bands except the EMOs.

No no, HIM is not goth rock, it just has "depressive" lyrics but that doesnt make it goth rock. I dont see any dark wave elements on its music.

I support the Soumi Metal genre, its a way to separate those finnish bands that dont sound like any other form of metal (that makes you even doubt if they are metal or not)

Also we have Gothenburg Metal, and Green Bay Thrash these genres are exclusevely to the region, but I still recognize them as subgenres

IMO calling Finnish gothicmelancholic lyric or music, etc such as Sentenced, For My Pain, ToDieFor, Poisoblack etc is very appropriate. Maybe the meaning of "Suomi" word make misunderstanding of position for Suomi metal band that play with Suomi lyric and Finnish goth bands play with english lyric targeting to international. Only that small thing, otherwise very true to reflect the genre.

Yeah I realize that HIM isn't goth rock now because between the time I posted that and now I met someone who listens to a lot of goth rock and HIM for sure do not fall into the goth rock category...
