I already have quite a few albums to look forward to in 2016, so I figured we'd go ahead and get this thread started. The two so far are the upcoming Ctheilist and Lycus albums. Ctheilist embody all that is great with strange Lovecraftian death metal, while Lycus are an incredibly solid funeral doom outfit.

Found this amazing German band playing speed metal in the vein of Exciter and Razor. Only have a demo/Ep out right now but I'm hungry for more!

Found this amazing German band playing speed metal in the vein of Exciter and Razor.

I heard couple of tracks on their record label. Nothing groundbreaking here. Typical flow of thrash-y elements where other bands already done with it.

Long ass drone post coming:
"First EP from solo Chicago metal project Plague of Carcosa - two tracks of drone and doom, largely improvised, guitars tuned all the way down to F. The first two tracks invoke SunnO))), Bong, and Lovecraftian imagery, while the final track is a punishing rendition of the popular Lannister anthem from Game of Thrones with guest vocals from the bassist of Tower of Silence" Slightly psychedelic drone.

Plague of Carcosa-The Color Out of Space

Extremely nice covor:

A "short" drone song, featuring various types of instrument abuse. Nice:

Ural-Return To The Madness

Very nice industrial psychedelic drone:

Ominous Void -Void

Lo-fi blackend drone:

ᶆᵻᴎ -Monolith

"One man project. It started in Mexico city in 2013 and is now active in Netherlands.U.sol is experimental /atmospheric /drone metal with other influences."

U.Sol-Conversando con el Espejo

The best thing drone metal this year. Absolutely amazing. Someone had been listening to KTL.

Floating Glasses - Fabric of Disquiet featuring Negative Particle

I've had a blast this year with some of the death metal that's been dropping.

There was Zealotry's The Last Witness, which is probably the best album to feature Phil Tougas from this year.

Setentia's Darkness Transcend, which is excellent if you want more Ulcerate on this earth.

Garroted's In the Court of Nyarlathotep demo is one of the better death metal demos I've heard, regardless of era.

The Infestdead remasters actually turned out really well, it really breathed new life into one of Dan's lesser side projects.

Just checked this out. I don't usually bother with remasters, but you're right, this really works. For something as groove oriented as Infestdead 21st century production techniques are a real bonus. The original JesuSatan sounds like it was recorded through a cardboard tube.

Yeah I was pretty skeptical because I usually avoid remasters as well, and an entire discog being remastered for a band no one really cares that much about seemed really iffy, but having a much beefier production really worked wonders with the material.

Another much needed remaster:

Unfortunately that only exists on youtube. Roadrunner need to get their act together and release an official remaster of Breeding the Spawn.
