I kinda like it, though I admit it's pretty shitty. Listening to that song again I'm reminded of Alchemist at times actually. Also haven't seen anyone mention this album/EP thing which I discovered a while back. Great black metal from The Netherlands. Strikes a nice balance between melancholy and dissonance: And I'm sure some people here are aware that Lotus Thief's new album releases in just a few days, but since the band doesn't get enough attention, here ya go. Their debut is still amazing and this new album seems to follow suit:

Yeah it's pretty damn great I thought. Feel like it's something quite a lot of people would really like. Songwriting is top notch.

Deranged BM with drone elements: Vvltvs-Wrok noisy drone: Nick and Rose -Thornwork "Contra Rivus combines Drone/Doom with Downtempo Deathcore elements to create hateful and sludgy music while still maintaining the sluggish and atmospheric ingredients of Drone Metal" Contra Rivus - Of Martyrdom and Misanthropy nice, float-y drone. Reminds me of nadja and tAP a bit redherring- 033: A Blinding Golden Light Rid the Seas of Their Lords "Psychedelic one-man project from Tutin, Serbia. Fully improvised genre-bending instrumentals that range from krautrock and neo-psychedelia to drone-doom metal and ambient stuff." Humble Mantra- U Har

That Vvltvs was pretty awful, I had listened to it a few days back. And that artwork looks like nothing but a triple a-hole in space.

Melodic Black metal/Blackgaze from Germany. Sounds like a cross between the WITTR, Sorcier Des Glaces and Deafheaven to me. Could be wrong though. And I like the artwork, its very Howls of Ebb-ish. Sallow - I: The Great Work

Damn, these Chileans are awesome just like the rest of them. Cool artwork that will fit perfectly in a Crepusculo Negro catalog. The whole album might as well. Really good bm. Siaskel - Haruwen Airen

Atmospheric/Post metal from Portugal. Not so sure of the genre. Kinda sounds like early Neurosis to me. And its good. 2 Tracks streaming now and both are amazing. Full thing will be out by Sep 30. MEMOIRS OF A SECRET EMPIRE - Vertigo And you're a bitch if you don't see the album title in the cover above in your very first glance.

One-man Atmo/Melodic/Blackgaze project from Italy. Totally WITTR-ish, spectacular songwriting and production too. Has some really intricate string arrangements and melodic instrumentations. And I could stare at that artwork all day. Chiral - Gazing Light Eternity

Long ass post coming: Found this very profilic blackend drone/ ambient project with odd vocals, spoken words and samples. Gives the feeling of dizziness and illusion, like someone got lost in the space and trying to communicate with earth. They have multiple albums for this Septermber. From skimming, these seem to be their best: S.I.R.S.-Depopulation S.I.R.S.-Hopeless Reality (All We Nothing) but also these sound nice: link, link From the same label: very very long industrial drone/ ambient. Obviously have not heard it all, but sounds alright to me. C.O.U.F.O.L-Top Secret 2 some angry blackend post hardcore. Very much in your face and rough around the edges. ERDVE-Promo One man French industrial band. Not sure if it has metal in it at all. It sounds like blackend industrial music with spoken words on the top. The best thing industrial this year for me: Maquerelle - Ghaisergrad He had had also one more album this year: Maquerelle -Ferraille Rouge Now, some low-fi, epic atmospehric black metal for a change in mood: Brightly Painted Corpses-Her Scarlet Dress Ablaze Finally, absoloutly great low-fi blackend metal with chanty vocals in the background from nowhere else than Iceland. Melodic at core, and slightly psychedelic. Ónefnt-Demó

New Blown Out. It is a side project of the guys in Bong, HKN etc, so you know what type of sound it has: BLOWN OUT-New Cruiser Do not know what it is, or even not sure if I like it. It sounds very dumb and wrong in essence: Girl Sweat- Bad Happenings

More for fans of The Mars Volta and similar bands. Addition of Sax and trumpet definitely improves the sound. Varied and multi-faced: Dark Suns- Everchild Instrumental alternative/art rock/ metal. Inspired by Tool I guess, and a bit krautrocky at core. Might as well be my favorite alternative record this year: Parlour-Parlour How to make folk metal: "An instrumental marriage of Irish Folk, Post Rock, Kraut and Psychedelic " and "Around a core sound of Guitars, Drums, Flute and Uilleann Pipes, they have added Synths, Saxophone, Violin, Percussion and more ". Like it really. Iron Mountain-Unum

Simultaneously chilled out, noisy, cinematic experimental industrial metal from the Big Apple Buffalo scene. Think Perdition City recorded by tortured future robots. Some of the best new electronic metal I've heard this year. Orbalisk - Frozen Citadel II
