Listening to that song again I'm reminded of Alchemist at times actually.

Also haven't seen anyone mention this album/EP thing which I discovered a while back. Great black metal from The Netherlands. Strikes a nice balance between melancholy and dissonance:



And I'm sure some people here are aware that Lotus Thief's new album releases in just a few days, but since the band doesn't get enough attention, here ya go. Their debut is still amazing and this new album seems to follow suit:

Ayahuasca - Yin

Damn this ain't bad at all.

Yeah it's pretty damn great I thought. Feel like it's something quite a lot of people would really like. Songwriting is top notch.

Someone should do a course in doing nice MS posts. I am still at this stage:

well I don't know. I think they should have a safe place on MS data base, especially given the fact that there are a bunch of weirdos really loving strange female fronted doom.

MaM is so much better than Ell within their genre. Not really sure what kind of genre it is, is it really doom?

That Vvltvs was pretty awful, I had listened to it a few days back. And that artwork looks like nothing but a triple a-hole in space.

Melodic Black metal/Blackgaze from Germany. Sounds like a cross between the WITTR, Sorcier Des Glaces and Deafheaven to me. Could be wrong though. And I like the artwork, its very Howls of Ebb-ish.

Damn, these Chileans are awesome just like the rest of them. Cool artwork that will fit perfectly in a Crepusculo Negro catalog. The whole album might as well. Really good bm.

But yeah, this album is one of the best Sludge doom I've heard all year and it saddens me how much no one has noticed it.

Atmospheric/Post metal from Portugal. Not so sure of the genre. Kinda sounds like early Neurosis to me. And its good. 2 Tracks streaming now and both are amazing. Full thing will be out by Sep 30.

80 mins. of uncompromising, intoxicating and radioactive black metal from the northern hemisphere i.e. Iceland. Unbelievably raw, lo-fi and wickedly dissonant. Actually a compilation of earlier demos from 2012-15. Worth checking out.

One-man Atmo/Melodic/Blackgaze project from Italy. Totally WITTR-ish, spectacular songwriting and production too. Has some really intricate string arrangements and melodic instrumentations. And I could stare at that artwork all day.

Gives the feeling of dizziness and illusion, like someone got lost in the space and trying to communicate with earth. They have multiple albums for this Septermber. From skimming, these seem to be their best:

Some of the best new electronic metal I've heard this year.

Part I of that album right over here. Noisy, polyrhythmic layered, ambient, triphop oriented experimental stuff. Very urban futuristic music.
