They have a lot of dumb satire songs, but some brilliant ones in there. Listen to "Fansong" first with the music video.

Doesn't do much for me this, it has a great flow and tempo, and a ton of energy, and some decent guitar leads, but I find it lacks memorable hooks, it's an ok release but is lacking something to me

You need to watch some Metalocalypse first to get into the right mindset

Yes, your absolutely right I went into this band blindly without even realizing who they truly are, what a mistake I made

If you really want to enjoy Dethklok you should listen to the debut album. It's by far the best one with classic songs like the original "Murmaider", "Hatredcopter" and "Thunderhorse"

Maybe I'll check the debut out like you suggest and work my way back up to this. I've quickly skimmed through a few of their previous stuff prior to hearing this to get some sort of insight, and I don't think they actually don't sound too bad, but I've not really delved into them properly yet. The animation looks kinda cool though.

If you haven't seen the series I highly recommend you to do so, and that goes for everyone else too. It's a must see for any metalhead. And now, better late than never, they've just released a movie that gives the series a proper ending

Haven't watched all of Metalocalypse, and what I have seen can be a bit hit and miss, but when it's funny it's very funny (the songs are hit and miss too, but "Go Forth And Die" is a banger)
This new album is about as inconsistent as I expected, but there are some cool songs here (Horse Of Fire caught my attention)

I quite like this. Doesn’t have any outright amazing songs like the first three, but a lot of them are still good, like Horse of Fire, SOS and Murmaider III. The guitar tandem of Toki and Skwisgaar continues to be a highlight per usual, and Nathan’s vocals are also great.
