At first I was curious whether or not to post this here, but I think it may hold some interest for the many who are unaware of this band. Gorath is mainly a black metal band from Belgium, but with Misotheism has progressed into this 'orthodox' if you will.

The album is definitely a stand out album! They also have 'The Fourth Era' (2006) and 'Elite' (2005). However, those don't quite hold me like Misotheism. You can check out a few songs at myspace, just listen to 'Gnosis' or 'Sicarii' and you may be impressed. Misotheism is for me, a must own album!

A really really good album, IMO the best black metal album to ever come out of Belgium. Produced by Reinier Schenk of Fleshmould and mastered by Dan Swäno.

I dont know album, but i know band, I listened it in myspace and I had soem songs from it, I download, I doiscovere it when I was looking in MA about Belgian bands, realy good one, awsoem band

I just checked them out (sorry it took so long LOL) and they're actually really good. Misotheism is filled with great riffs and, from what I heard, seems like it could be one of the better albums of the year.

Re-Resurrected!

The new album is quite something, reminds me of Glorior Belli back when they were good, but even more dynamic and surprising.

I think the new one is very good, like all their albums. One of the best Belgian bands.
Apparently they're underrated 'cause with 7 posts in 3 years you can't call this thread a succes.
I listen to Gorath since their 2006 release The Fourth Era.
Never seen them live and that's kinda weird though.

Changed to just a general Gorath thread as we now have album specific threads in another section of the forum.

This sounds interesting. I will absolutely check it out. Many great bands come from Belgium. Just to name the first one that pops up in my mind ... eh ... eh ... wait a little ... eh ... something with throne ... Enthroned!!!

So I've listened to some of this stuff and I must say that I really enjoyed it! It reminds me of Mortuary Drape maybe not so much in musical expression but in feeling.

Gorath is NOT religious, at all. They are a 100% concept band.
