Hey guys!

How is everyone doing? I hope all is going well. I have a question for everyone here. I need some Metal trivia questions. Every Monday evening we hold worship, and there is a social time beforehand, and we have been working to educate people on the Metal culture. It has proven to be a very helpful way of doing this lesson, as apposed to someone sitting there and giving a lecture.

Now what we did last week was type up 11 or 12 questions, taped them all around the room, and gave people sheets with lines for the answers and had them walk around the room. Not only did this help build community, it also really taught people there is more to metal than big hair, bat heads and screaming.

Where I could use some help is in the area of questions. They can be true/false, multipule choice, or even fill in the blank.
Some examples of questions we have had were:
  • Which Nation has the most metal bands?
  • How many bat heads has Ozzy bitten off?
  • Which are not real genres of metal (we had things like Projector, Blood and Evil mixxed in with Folk, Gothic and Power)
  • Do all metal bands have guitars?

So I think you get the idea. If people here could come up with questions that would be great. I think this will also be fun for people on the site to quiz each other with. Now, keep the questions rather simple to begin with. Most people won't know which album was the first to use a 7-string guitar in it's full potential. Feel free to make some of them funny. Metal isn't all serious, I mean, look at Poision of Korn!? Also, including the answers would be great.

    Thanks everyone,

    Hemlock \m/

Hey, good thinking. Metal trivia is a good idea We could quiz each other here or something.

    How about these...

    What does W.A.S.P. stand for?

Which metal band has the most members (that I can think of! ) ?

What year did the Black Plague wipe out half of Norway and which band made it their name?

Which band coined the term 'Black Metal'?

Which style of metal does Alexi Laiho think that Children Of Bodom isn't?
    a) Black Metal
    b) Power Metal
    c) Death Metal

True or False: Hansi Kursch has only ever done vocals for Blind Guardian.

I like your quiz, I think ill answer them.

W.A.S.P doesnt stand for anything, many people think it stands for 'we are sexually perverted', bu in actuality Blackie Lawless threw in those dots to keep people guessing.

    Question 2 is hard.....

    question 3= 1349

Venom coined the term black metal.

    B

    False.

Well, Dave Mustain has been to Rehab 18 times and is Suprizingly still alive, and clean.

Rob halford came out of the Closet During a gay pride parade in england. It's humorus, he was on top of a float, just kind of sitting there, waving at everyone, so casual, but everybody knew anyway.

Just look at the leather clothes and cap and whip as part of his stage attire in the eighties.

Bahahahaha!, How did Phil Anselmo react? ( I cant imagine too well considering there a southern amaerican band and homosexuality isnt as widely accepted down there as other places)

BTW-Alot of Metal artists use leather and bondage type stuff on stage, so its really hard to tell whats gay anymore and what isnt.

Okay. I'm going to have to apologise and slightly reword my question. I wasn't sure how many vocalists Maiden had before they released the Soundhouse Tapes, but I just verified that fact.

What I want is the names of all lead (not just back backing!) vocalists Maiden have had during their career ON DISC (7", LP, EP, Single etc. etc.)

For example, if singer X sang lead vocals on song Y which is released on format Z, he counts as one choice.

Three you should get right away. The other two are less obvious.

As a bonus, you can tell me the three other vocalists that have sung lead vocals for Maiden before the Soundhouse Tapes were recorded.

So, for full marks, tell me the names of all 8 vocalists Maiden have had during their career, live and on disc.

They've only had 5 lead vocalists, and ONLY 3 ever recorded anything with them. Paul Day and Dennis Wilcock never recorded anything official with Iron Maiden. There are no official recordings before the Soundhouse Tapes. So recording lead vocalists are Paul Di Anno, Bruce Dickinson, and Blaze Baley.
Iron Maiden as such was formed in 1975. And up to the release of The Soundhouse Tapes only Paul Day and Dennis Wilcock handled the vocal duties. Bob Verschoyle was a vocalist when the band was called Gypsy's Kiss, so it WASN'T Iron Maiden yet.
I don't know where you got the information from that Maiden has had 8 vocalists, but that information is 100% wrong, sorry to say.

You've got 5, now there are three more to get. Believe me, there are three more. These are people that were in Iron Maiden, when it was called Iron Maiden, and sang lead vocals at least one time during their career in the band. To make it easier, two of these three have been recorded singing on Iron Maiden's discography, one only sang vocals live. But, I assure you, they do exist.

Ozman was alive back then, ok!

@Hellraizer: I want to know the answer to that Meshuggah question, so I can test my friend with it

The questions in this thread are getting harder and harder. Originally the thread was made for making up questions for testing people who were new to metal and were just learning. I'm sure if half the metalheads here can't get some of these harder ones then new-to-metal people won't!

Meshuggah comes from the Yiddish word for "crazy" In holland a bastardized dutch version of the word is quite often used "mesjogge" meaning of course "crazy"

So, Ozman, have you thought about my Maiden question, or shall I put you out of your misery?

Please put me out of my misery cause you got me totally stumped on this one. And I don't have the early days dvd, nor all the b-sides
