I recommend you the album Beyond The Veil, it's an amazing album, all the songs are great, with excellent choirs and 2 excellent instrumental songs. After this one, I recommend you World Of Glass, the style is quite different, I think that mainly because at that time, Morten was already gone, but the style is excellent too

You´re right, Beyond The Veil is really good, and the 2 instrumental songs are amazing. I also recommend Widow´s Weeds, that album is also great. Let´s hope the new one is also as good or even better.

Widow's Weeds is a great album too, but the music is so depressive... that's what I don't like very much, but of course there are great songs, like Evenfall, My Lost Lenore and the most depressive: December Elegy
About the new album, I'm sure it'll have a different style, because Kjetil has left the band, so, without a musician, a band changes a lot, specially a vocalist

But im not shore iff newer stuff are so good anyway, only album wht I prefere are 'Widow Weeds'' or ''Beyound The Weil'' others Im not sgore, seems lyricaly band changed after firts album, but secend still are some part of early Tristania, but Vibeka maybe its reason to see band

Anyway, i agree with you, Vibeke is for me a key element in the band for her tremendous talent.

Let's add the west coast of the USA to that tour. Not that Tristania has visited any of N.America, but many bands only make short stops on the East coast

Now you disappointed me filos.. Tristania has fanatic funs in usa and south america where there is a Tristania-cover band which i cant remember their name.. The reasons they cannot do big tours are mostly some personal problems, like the reason their last tour canceled, which was Vibeke's exams in university.

I didnt mean that they has no fans in SA and States but I mean thay can not go in tours like NIGHTWISH, IRON MAiden and METAllICA because those are BIG bands and Triastia are big too, but sttll Vibeca hs studies, but those bands even iron Maiden thay had money so many thay cn not ory about nothng and BTW Tarja has some universaty studies too and she wa sout of Nightwish sometime and Marco recordet tarot album in 2003

Um...I don't think it's been said but I'll say that the Trist EU tour has been completely scrapped. Maybe if/when they reschedule it they'll add a UK date.

Good sad thay Europeian tours are crapp and trdaitional like always

I do recall reading back on the Tristania website (or forum) that they were hoping to do a N. American tour to support the upcoming album, whenever it ends up being released. I mean, I won't hold my breath or anything, but it is certainly the first time they had mentioned the U.S. in any tour comment, so it's safe to say I am hopeful. My guess is that if they do do it, it likely will be a one time deal, sort of like Therion's tour of the U.S./Canada last year.

Obviously with the postponing of the release and holding off on recent EU tours I'm not going to get *too* hopeful, but after nearly 10 years of being a fan, it's hard not to be...

hummm...i rediscovered Tristania with their world of glass album. interesting band that keeps hiding in the back of my head for whatever reason...

Well, what more do you expect in one metal band

Their 'Beyond the Veil' is a great one, I love the song 'Lethean River' ,expecialy the female vocals part with violin and piano in the background

'Evenfall' is a great song, too. although the video clip is somewhat ...stupid, I still really like the song

@ Sasuke_Avenger: Evenfall video is cool during the first 3 or 4 minutes, but then turns a little bit boring.

Ashes is so boring, the rest is outstanding!

This is a great Goth metal band, or Doom metal, anyway, the female voices are excellent, is really similar to Penumbra, but when it works with Sirenia they make really good songs.

Best band...cant wait to hear "Illumination"

they are one of my all time favorite bands! I just love every single album they have released. I can't wait for the new one too.

I just hope that their new album is different from Ashes and similar to Beyond he Veil or World Of Glass

i recently got one album from tristania and i like it, it's that one, world of glass' and it sounds pretty great; hopefully they can do a great job with the upcoming album as they did on this one; i also guess i'm gonna get more stuff from them soon... (hope so)

@ Gothya: if you liked World of Glass, you should get Beyond the Veil and Widow's Weeds, both excellent albums!!

I saw Tristania live at Metal Female Voices Fest and they were just awesom.
They also played two songs of the forthcoming album and they were great! You should expect better guitarriffing imo

If you liked Tristania, try Galadriel, actually Galadriel isn't gothic, it's symphonic doom, but very close to Tristania's sound. I recommend you "World under world" and "From ashes and dust".

can you believe once as I was looking around on the internet visiting metal bands websites I found this band long time ago? i found one sample, and it wasnt on their official site, I liked so much that I download it, it's that one called "bleeding heart's poetry", it sounds great, the music it's pretty catchy; since that time I never found their website again and before you posted the link here, I saw they got update on MS , I never even knew where they came from; but i guess i'm gonna check 'em out again, and hear other samples to know if I really like them

btw, is it there actually a topic for Galadriel? no, right...
