Let's see some kind of a "brief" list of bands: Astral Doors (Swe), King Diamond (Den), T.N.T. (Nor), Battleroar (Gr), Dirty Deeds (UK), Baron Rojo (Spa), Ostrogoth (Bel), Wolf (Ger), Rage (Ger), Blaze (UK), Bruce Dickinson (UK), Sangre Azul (Spa), Chanel Zero (Bel), Primal Fear (Ger), Blood Thirsty Demons (It), Powergod (Ger), Morgana Lefay (Swe), Tad Morose (Swe), Artch (Nor), Conviction (Swe), Masterplan (Ger), Biomechanical (UK), Headless Cross (UK), Communic (Nor)...i think I could name a few more, but I guess it's enough.
First question when is the new Communic due to appear?
Second anybody got the Headless Cross EP - Burning Sanctuary released last year?
If you can't post something about bands listed here or that are not you usual eu flower power bands or we heard it 1000 times heavy metal done bad, please don't post. At least read the first post, please before you post about something that you can read in other threads.

@Danzig: well yes they are known, but let me ask you 2 things. Are they known as Nightwish, Cradle or dimmu for example, by the new metalheads? (Bruce is, but they are certainly not that liked) Second how many of the rest do you know?

I'm about to get from a friend an album (actually there are 2 on the same cd) from a heavy metal band called Picture (I think he said from Holland). What do you think of this band? He said they are nothing that geat just a regular 80's heavy metal band, a little to NWOBHM. On the other hand I got to listen to Metal Inquisitor's "Doomsday for the Heretic" and I loved it, old school, not to melodic, not power, just a great heavy metal album. Anyone else digs them? (except probably Hellish Star, Lord Elden, Ozman?)

@venom: Picture is a great band, I especially love the "Eternal dark" album. This way, BTW, my very first concert (with Ostrogoth and Black Widow). Another awesome band from Holland: DONOR. Technical thrash metal somewhere between Forbidden, Agent Steel and Watchtower).

@ Hellish Star: hehe I know of Donor, it's Jelle Bekker band before Frozen Sun, right? Never Listened to them although I've listened to Frozen Sun and should have an interview with them somewhere around here...although not my cup of tea really. Anybody heard of Manitu from Finland, they have released 2 albums "The Mad Moon Rising" (2004) & "Deadlock" (this year). I don't know if I should get their first album or not.

However, the band is from Norway, not Germany (there does exist a German band with the same name though, but I know nothing of that band, there also exists same named bands in other countries according to www.metal-archives.com).

Account deleted Written by on 01.06.2006 at 20:40 I'm really sorry about you, did you at least read THE FIRST POST? I really don't care what you think is true or untrue, this is a matter bands that were and are considered to describe best metal. I'm not talking here about "gothic" or eu chessy flower power almost metal. It's about bands that play metal. Maybe that word "true" has been over used related to heavy metal, but that's the only way you can say anything about what is really metal, not the lame bands that flood the market right now (of course I'm quite exagerating right now). Please read the first post! When you'll see me adding a band like the ones you are talking about I'll say it's okay to talk about those kind of bands. Until then please stop making usless posts, that just comunicate that you know nothing about what I and a few other poeple are talking about. Now to be on topic I just got the DVD released by Sodom, when I'll have the time to watch it carefully I'll comunicate my thoughts (I think it's got to be dementia). Another recent addition to my video collection (except a Motorhead DVD, which I'll get monday) I also got a bootleg from the Czech republic with King Diamond's live show, just reminded me how great that concert was and that I'm sorry about not having more true metal shows here in Romania. Although the quality is not stelar it sounds quite very good for a bootleg (you can hear the diffrent instruments and most of what King is singing). The one thing I'm a little dissapointed is that the track list is exactly the same and the show. If the place where it was shot would have been identical with the one in Romania you wouldn't tell the diffrence. Although this is one of the best bootlegs I've ever seen.

@Kariasakis7: Let's not carreid away and put all the bad ass bands here, because I don't want this thread to go and have bands like Immortal, Arch Enemy listed here, they are somewhere else. I just remembered 2 bands from germany that were a little more extreme Protector & Depresive Age, who remembers them. Depresive Age are one of my favorite band & on their site says that they were to release an album last year and until now absolutely no news, no nothing, except the site is gone for some time. What the hell is going on with these guys? Taken from www.bnrmetal.com: "An intriguing group, Depressive Age could be loosely categorized as a progressive thrash group, though they certainly don't sound like traditional progressive metal bands nor are they really a thrash band, except on occasion. A pretty unique and original sound here, especially on Electric Scum. At one point they shortened their name to D-Age (hence the title of their 1999 compilation album), and were reported as disbanded in April of 2001, but apparently they are back in action, as evidenced by there (all-German) website, with a new album New Bomb Energy on the way as of this writing." (but this is all old news for me)

A few more news (just one actually): Long-running British metallers RAVEN have justfinished tracking four new songs at Assembly Line Studios in Vienna, Virginia. The project was self-produced, with Kevin 131 engineering and mixing. Kevin 131 (PROJECT: FAILING FLESH, DECEASED, DYSRYTHMIA, OVER IT, WHILE HEAVEN WEPT) has issued the following statement about the project. "A few months ago John [Gallagher, RAVEN bassist/vocalist] and I came into contact with each other. I had not heard anything from them in years, so I was very glad to hear new material. We chatted a few times, then met up here at the studio. The vibe and energy was great, but I had no idea that it would translate as well as it did when we got into the studio. RAVEN came in to track a few tunes so they could have some ideas down before going to Germany before Bang Your Head!!! festival. The sessions sound great. It's back to old-school RAVEN? great energy, raw, energetic. These were quick sessions ? set up and go. But something great happened ? the energy and intensity is there, without being overthought and overproduced. It will be great to hear a whole record keeping this vibe when it rolls around! "They have one song, 'Against The Grain', which, I may go out on a limb here, may be one of my favorite RAVEN songs in the last 10 years. Up there with 'All for One' material, in my opinion! 12-string bass, crazy guitars, trademark insane vocals. John, Mark [Gallagher, guitar] and Joe [Hasselvander, drums] are great guys ? very pro, damn hilarious, and a pleasure to work with. "I am off for the night, then I will do some mixes and they will have them in hand after a quick mastering job with the king Bill Wolf (PROJECT: FAILING FLESH, DYSRYTHMIA, EMMYLOU HARRIS, WILLIE NELSON). That guy can make anything sound good and has worked with the craziest people. RAVEN should fit right in. John said these songs were not for release, but I am sure that one day these versions will see the light of day. All RAVEN fans should look forward to the record, for sure."

My favourite band that is Shaaman is also not very popular. They are Prog/Power Metal and they are really good. The singer Andre Matos (ex of Angra) is the best voice in melodic metal that I've heard. Their music is full of emotion and power. It's very sad that no one know this band. For everyone who likes the good melodic metal try with this band. Up Shaaman!
