It's 2015, and there's a lot more to the music world than metal. Post any albums of quality outside of the realms of metal in this thread. Here are a few to get started (Esbe and Sixfingerz)

The Dan Terminus album

Fuck me, that was totally amazing. And I'm not even a fan of this kind of stuff.

The new Clarence Clarity album, without a doubt.

This is probably some of the best fusion I've seen in recent memory. R&B catchiness with a colourful psychedelic twist, but also quite eerie at the same time. Can really catch you off guard at points.
It's been bugging me how little people are talking about this one.

Oh, and I've also been loving the new Death Grips stuff. The Powers That B is easily my favourite stuff by them, collectively, by far.

Holy shit that song was good. I'm pretty sure you are my primary source for outstanding non-metal recs.

Hah, I'm honored.

I should hopefully be able to start working on my 2015 list soon, so I hope there'll be a good amount of new stuff for folk to discover.

Clarence Clarity was great as was the Dan Terminus album but Perturbator is superior imo :3

I dunno why, but Perturbator's work just does nothing for me. It's probably just my indifference to the synthwave sound in general, though.

I too don't praise Perturbator as the fans of the genre do. That Dan Terminus is the bomb though

Here's another one to shake things up a bit.
The Punch Brothers - The Phosphorescent Blues

Thought I'd add a bit more genre diversity with some progressive bluegrass.

In all honesty, I find this album to be rather hit'n'miss for the most part. However, the songs that are "hits" are some of my favourite tracks of 2015.

This goes especially for 'Familiarity'.

This is a song that goes through multiple "movements" of sorts, and each one is absolutely incredible. Emotional, rich and musically blissful. Would definitely recommend for a full listenthrough of this one, because it always feels changing. One of the best songs of the year imo.

Well I guess I'll keep the recs coming then.
Timbre - Sun and Moon

Two part album
Sun: Chamber Folk with a bit of a proggy catch, overall quite joyous.
Moon: Classical with minor operatic elements, more sombre but beautiful.

Definitely a great listen.

Good stuff! I saw the album rated pretty high on RYM charts and tried looking for it on Spotify, but it wasn't there so I never got around to listening. I like this song.

New Torres album is very good. Just as good as the debut. Some 90s PJ Harvey and Cat Power, a dash of Sharon Van Etten, really great voice.

Also check out Jenny Hval's Apocalypse, girl. Shrill and weird Norwegian art pop. Maybe not quite as good as the previous two albums, but it might grow on me.

Algiers have finally hit the scene with a self titled release, and it is beautiful. Will probably end up as one of my favourite albums from this year.
(Post-Punk / Gospel / Blues Rock / Industrial)

Here's two tracks that show off the opposite sides of the effort in equally beautiful ways:

A-ha has a new album out and it's surprisingly good. The album is called Cast in Steel (sounds like a name for a power metal album ) and it's been six years since their previous album. Great come back! If only more pop music was like that!

David Gilmour has just released a new album. It's called Rattle that Lock. I've only listened to a couple of songs and I liked what I heard.
