I already have quite a few albums to look forward to in 2016, so I figured we'd go ahead and get this thread started. The two so far are the upcoming Ctheilist and Lycus albums. Ctheilist embody all that is great with strange Lovecraftian death metal, while Lycus are an incredibly solid funeral doom outfit.

Lol, are you even listening to these posts? That Absolutus has only 3 black metal tracks. The rest are ambient and noise compositions. (the last 2 black metal tracks even sound like they were pulled off another record entirely).

Ya I tried to look up for it before posting if it was a compilation or something but MA doesn't have anything on it. The last 5 tracks do sound very dark ambient.

This is so good I pity all you poor creatures who skip this. Thrash-y Sludge/stoner doom played by seasoned veterans from the atlanta scene.

Italian blackened doom with both harsh vox and female vox. Sounds fucking incredible. Comes Marcel approved and with supremely over-the-top bass playing.

EDIT: The harsh vox are also female vox it seems, freaking awesome and insanely heavy tbh.

Norwegian Death doom. Sounds quite blackened to me, some of the riffs. And comes with a gorgeous artwork.

EDIT: Or Just blackened death as I don't find much doom here.

Melodic deathgrind from Germany. Music and the guitar is a bit too clean and melodic for grind that it almost becomes core-like but its definitely grind.

Crust-y sounding black/death from New Zealand. Highly recommended, a good thing to keep an eye on.

Do they have death metal influenced in that album? i'v always thought they were pretty straight black.....pretty standard too.

Well they have just one track streaming from the new album but I guess its mostly black as you said. Few death growls here and there but predominantly just bm.

New German bm thing on World Terror Committee. I love the mix. The guitars sound perfect and the drums are not very overpowering.

Some really melodic bm here with a bit clean vox too. Shame it is nothing like the industrial avant-garde metal the cover suggests. Decent stuff still.

Nice, fuzzy ambient bm styled DSBM (I guess) with good, but distance, shrieks. Pleasantly repetitive. Always been a fan of this type of sound and it fits my lethargic mood for the winter months.

Yeah sorry for the lazy recs lately. Too lazy and fucked up atm. But this should keep this thread going. Spanish OSDM with rolling and rollicking drums and heavier-than-usual guitar tone.

Some of the most forward thinking progressive melodeathcore I've heard. Up there with Born of Osiris's masterpiece 3rd album or possibly even better than that. They have a new full length coming up as well. Also the guy from Obscura plays bass here, so its gooey good. Get excited.
