Since there wasn't a thread for them yet I thought to make one for them. Just the typical band thread. Post your opinions, good and bad are welcome. My opinion is that these guys are very talented although they do need to try something new. All of their albums are far too similar. After listening to all of their albums it is had for me to tell them apart. But overall a very good band with a very unique sound. The topic is now open for posting!

Eh well I've heard a few more songs now and my final opinion on them for now is that they're fun to listen to a song here and there, but I wouldn't be able to bear an entire album or anything. Too repetative and too many annoying vocals at once

I'm going to see them live this weekend For the second time already now . They've gotten more known since last year, so their'll probably be more people in front of the stage this time I guess, because last year there weren't. But that might've also been because they were playing on the last day of the festival, on 11u in the morning... Anyway I'm going to enjoy them for sure , especially since I haven't heard their latest album yet. I hope the songs are good (and not too alike, like a lot of people think).

They're doing a UK tour Nov/Dec and I'll probably catch them then. I do wonder who the special guest band will be though.

Either some shit metalcore band like Mendeed, who supported them last September, or hopefully a good power metal band like Masterplan or Sonata Arctica

Well, Masterplan are vocalist-less last time I checked and I think Sonata Arctica have a fear of doing a full UK tour...Would be amazing though.

I also doubt Mendeed will be going seeing as they've already gigged with them so you're off the hook there.

I used to think that all of Dragonforce's albums sounded similar until I didn't listen to them for awhile then listened to all of them in consecutively. I would have to see that they have progressed quite a bit with each album that they have put out. Sure they are all very similar but for the most part they seem to be getting faster and more technical with each release. Sam Totman is also a pretty funny guy I saw a video of them at a Lacuna Coil press confrence and he asked the singer the most rediculous question ever. The only thing that I really find boring about this band is the drumming, sure the drummer is good but he doesn't do that many intresting things in the songs.

Here's the video. Hopefully they upload hasn't timed out, but just tell me if it has and I'll re-upload it.

edit: It has expired, and I won't be able to re-upload it for about a week because of I don't have the videos on this computer. Grr.

I like their sound, although it isn't the kind of thing that really makes me insane. Just a good sound to hear, but nothing special. And as some people said, it's kinda repetitive. But it feels nice, so there's no regret. Almost all their songs are acceptable, which is something really rare.

About their sound: it feels very fast and explosive. I like the way they play, but the vocals doesn't synch with the whole feel sometimes, although I think the result is great this way (and I certainly doubt there's a vocal which can keep up with their rhythm).

Don't ever try to understand what I'm saying, just try and listen to them. You won't regret it.

I can see what you see not. Vision milky then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone, whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be, shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind, cast down into the Halls of the Blind.

Firewind have been confirmed as their support for the EU tour, excluding the dates in the UK. I wish they would hurry up and announce their support for when they come over here so I can see if they're bothering to see live again. I'd love to see Firewind and hope they keep them for supports but they'll probably push for a 'more popular' band to hit the UK with seeing as they're one of the biggest metal bands around here.

Dragonforce is really good band and Hermal Lee a very good guitarist. But the head is going to blow after listening to them. Their music is so compilated. Will we ever listen to more matured music from them?

P.S. I am very happy that the Greek Metal Band Firewind will be on Dragonforce tour as a support band. It is time for Greek bands to make themselves known yo the audience.

Yeah I'd love to see 'em too, but I always miss the chance, and apparently they're bloody amazing live - lots of energy. But then again, maybe living in the countryside isn't the best idea when it comes to the trek to London or Birmingham...

I agree about everything sounding the same. Although I usually take one song or two in my MP3 player when I work out or cross-country ski in the winter. Along with some Lost Horizon, it is great music to motivate one to exercise.

I'm sort of in two moods about this. The fact that the rest of Europe gets Firewind sort of makes me feel confident that another good worthy power metal band will be supports over here. However, this is also the UK where power metal isn't as big as the bands you named or DragonForce so I have no idea what to expect. I just hope it isn't something Kerrang have populated. But if it's a crappy support band - I'm not going. I've already seen DF before and they usually tour with awesome bands eg, Edguy, W.A.S.P., Angra etc. so they better not let me down now!

I don't sing along, I listen to the solos! Brain...dying... Pity there isn't a dvd, I'd get to watch them too! For now I just put on the video for Through The Fire And The Flames, and try to comprehend how fingers can move so fast when it gets to the close-ups. I'd love to hear those guys try a slow blues...I don't think they'd cope!
