A very enjoyable melodic black metal experience with a fantastic sound that sadly offers nothing new in this saturated genre.

The CD should arrive by post tomorrow. I'm excited to be one of the first to hear it.

Judging from the first listen, I'd say that track #6 is the best one and Jakob Björnfot probably surpassed even himself there, or at least he reached his 2022 level, but unlike what he'd said before (that this is his best work yet), I feel like "The Formless Fires" is his most "commercial" and unoriginal release so far as there is lack of innovative ideas. The bar was set high after the first two releases, but still, it's a good album. I might be wrong, but these are my first thoughts; I'll revisit tomorrow since I really am a fan and I hope it ages well.

Gave it a second listen and yeah I was right, it's just that even though I kinda liked more some of the tracks and right when I was about to feel happier I was thinking of what The Wings of Death reminds me of and suddenly remembered Groza's beautiful song "Elegance of Irony" which is basically the original version of 0:53-54

Still it's a good release with some great moments in it overall, especially most of the second half & opening track but I'd feel better if there was more heart into the whole thing...

This is too good. The first track would have sufficed though. It's better than entire albums.

A Nice Guy
Well I'm certainly impressed, but not blown away however, it's about on par with Necrophobic's latest release imo. Instead of the riffs it's the solo's that really stand out most for me, as well as the impeccable production. "De Dödas Sång" is a clear highlight for me.

Not as great as the last two releases, but still top tier black metal right here!

They were huge whit debut album, its 3th one and still great, maybe best summers album, one of best in this year, I like it. Damn good abm here. Its more sentimental , such great metal made super close to home.
I stand whit Ukraine and Israel. They have right to defend own citizens.
