Do the people here recommending US bands really think this is what the OP is looking for?

19.11.2009 - 14:13 Written by Hellish Star on 16.11.2009 at 19:16 I think I'll disagree in the comparison of Pyramaze with Sonata and the likes mentioned in the opening post. To me they're more progressive than power and definitaly not as "symphonic".

Lately I've been into Conquest and the song "Frozen Sky". The vocals are terrible, but that riff is something else! Oh, and I usually hate this kind of cheezy Power Metal.

19.11.2009 - 15:13 Written by Warman on 19.11.2009 at 14:26 That intro riff is quite catchy indeed. I see a lot of people say that they hate cheesy power metal, but I find myself enjoying it quite a bit at times. In fact, I've yet to really find a genre of metal (or music for that matter) that I don't enjoy.

19.11.2009 - 15:16 Written by Stigmatized on 19.11.2009 at 15:13 Right? I think it's great, although it annoys the crap out of me to have it stuck in my brain. And yeah, I haven't found a metal genre I truly dislike. There are some cheesy Power bands I do enjoy, like Power Quest.

Here are my all-time Top 10 european / melodic / neoclassical power metal albums => http://metalstorm.ee/users/list.php?list_id=83 - with a little description to each one. OFF: I have a band called Mandara and I'm the keyboard player. Our style is very similar to these bands but I think it's unique at the same time. We are still recording our first 2 demos - planned to be released around May & August. The 1st one called "Meadow Of Dreams" contains 4 songs - Endless Night Momentary Dawn, Embrace My Dream, Hypocrite Reality and Holy Prophecy. I'll upload some stuff to myspace when we are ready - I hope you will enjoy my/our music! Sorry for the adv!

Try Serenity, last album. I think it will perfectly fit your taste. Relatively young band, but on the highest level of songwriting and production in power metal.

Wuthering Heights, especially The Shadow Cabinet. It is fast and powerful, and manages to be uplifting while still having a dark edge.

He was hit by a car as a pedestrian and suffered several injuries. Though he is already on his way to recover we are all very, very sad and worried right now and wish him all the best and a speedy recovery! Unfortunately Henjo can't play the upcoming concerts in Nordenham, but he wanted us not to cancel these shows. We are very grateful to have our dear friend Roby De Micheli from Rhapsody Of Fire stepping in. We wish you all the best from the bottom of our hearts, dear Henjo!!!
