These guys are one of the more unique power/heavy metal bands out there. They come from Canada, and have two vocalists, both of which are fairly shrill, but still bad ass. They have taught us that Axes of Evil makes our fate wrapped in Steel. Any other fans here?

Yeah, I was thinking along those same lines except I was thinking Nuclear Blast or Metal Blade. Either way it all boils down the same. Smaller Label = more apreciation.

Yeah metal blade might be decent. Relapse has so many american bands on it thats who I'm betting is going to grab them.

hmm the sound would be very different without Hooper... to be honest this is the 3IoB i like, and i don't know if they would sound better with another vocalist or something.

I told you! We share the same feelings now. I remember (in fact if you flip back maybe 1 or 2 pages on this thread) we both agreed the band would be much better without Hooper, but a month or so ago I started to really appreciate his part in the band. Now I think we can all agree - though he is hard to grow accustomed to he is a big piece of what makes their sound unique.

I used to hate them because anyone I knew who was a fan of them kept trying to get me into them through "Deadly Sinners" so I merely thought of them as a screamo band trying to be Manowar. Then when I saw "Trial Of Champions" performed live at Monsters Of Rock over the summer - it was just so fucking epic in an outdoor festival event! I couldn't help but go buy their albums. Even started to really like 'Deadly Sinners', but 'Trial Of Champions' still has to be my favorite song - especially the line "Each weapon, an extension of your strength". I listen to that song pretty much every morning on my walk to work.

Also: Have either of you picked up "Battlecry..." yet? In the liner notes you see a picture of Cam Pipes with short hair and no beard, its really fucking strange to see that.

Just goes to Show you that a live experience with a band can change one's whole perspective of them. Far as Battlecry goes, no I can't say that I do. I've been saving my money lately, I have some rather costly goalst atm. But i'll probably get it next month or so...

hmm, oddly enough, from the short glances i gave Battlecry on my PC (i doubt i would even find it at a decent price around here even if i had money to spend on albums) i thought it was a bit too toned down and the production didn't seem as clear and over the top as on their 2007 album. maybe i'm wrong? after all all i need is "Advance and Vanquish"(one of the few albums i can listen to and like every track from beginning to end)

Yeah, Battlecry is really raw and stripped down compared to the albums to follow. Still, its actually really good considering its a debut...

So after looking into it, it looks like 3 Inches has been in talks with Century Media regarding being signed. I would post a link, but its from Blabbermouth and I'm far too lazy to track it down again.

Man, these guys are good! An awesome mix of Power and Thrash. This is the band to listen to if you're ever down and need pumped-up. They make you wanna pick up a warhammer and "destroy some orcs." Don't forget the crazy-ass vocals, either. I can't even think of another band to compare them to. Purely unique.

Well...it is true that Cam Pipes sounds kinda like Halford...but, could you say something more constructive than that? That statement just kinda seems pointless, ya know?

Does Halford actually approve or is that just an assumption based on how awesome the band is?

well, i read an interview with him somewhere and he likes the band, he keeps some of their discography on his i-pod. he also said they remind him of Painkiller. so yes, Halford approves

What I dislike in this band is the metalcore vocals. I'm a bit weird, as for vocals, probably. I enjoy Black Metal harsh vocals but I hate clean screams. I think the effect that BM vocals have (distortion, reverberation) makes all the difference in my appreciation of screams.

If it wasn't for those annoying vocals, I'd probably enjoy this band.

Firstly what I said wasn't 'pointless', especially cuz it's true and valid........and then secondly YES, Rob Halford does approve. Years ago when I used to use myspace, i got a notification which had a video of an interview where Halford spoke highly of the band saying that Cam Pipes reminds him of himself on the Painkiller album. Because it was years back, I can't remember the link.

Okay, that's fine, but when you fail to clearify what you're saying, and it just comes off as random, then it becomes pointless....not trying to offend, it's just true.

Yeah I know, the website volume is always really fucking loud. It catches me off guard every time, I'm listening to music on myspace or Itunes then out of nowhere the opening to Goatriders Horde totally blasts everything else away.

I'm a wee bit ticked off, I've been praying every night that 3 Inches puts out a new album soon, and my prayers are somehow mocked with this:

I'm surprised Nike chose them of all bands, I expect maybe like...Lamb Of God or Hatebreed or something, 3 Inches just seems like an odd choice.

well though the music may be different, they would tour with such bands as Lamb Of God, so people see them as the same stature.

Well I'm talking fame-wise. 3 Inches aren't exactly a sold-out-arena-show type band, you'd think a big company like Nike would go for a band thats far more popular.
