Quite a good band, there are fare better power metal bands though, i love the keyboardist and his solos.

Isn't able to see them when they come to Denmark...would have been great, but spent all my money on tickets to Maiden and Arch Enemy

OMG... I saw Dragonforce at the Ozzfest 2006 in August 9 *-* They Kick the Ass, And they played Valley of the Damned... *-* and i was so near !!! like 2 o 3 meters....

Is it just me, or do most of Dragonforce's songs sound like a bunch of random guitar parts thrown together?

i'm going to see them on saturday, just because they're gonna be too close to let them go, and Firewind is coming with them

i just got back from the concert, and i must say i'm disappointed. I expected to hear more of the solo's and vocals, but i hardly noticed them at all. on top of that, about 10 people (or should i say retards) were already drunk before Dragonforce began playing, and all the way through the gig, those asses were crowdsurfing, wich wasn't too good for my head (i wouldn't be surprised if i actually have a concussion or something) and it wasn't good for my mood. they ruined the whole fucking gig, on their own. bad sound, ok, i can live with that, as long as the band makes up in some way. but people who just don't have any respect for other people who just want to see the band, *curses with passion*.
but all in all, i had a good time the keyboardguy fucking rules, he's got a nice surprise for you guys who will see them too one could see that they were having fun, and it had its effect on the crowd

First off, I'm new to the forums, I just came across MetalStorm today in my search for new bands.
Dragonforce has always been of interest to me. Their style of metal got me interested in metal as subgenres and insitgated my need to find more. Dragonforce is a very talented band and I've only seen them once live, at the 2006 OzzFest. Even though they played for 25 minutes, I was blown away by their technicality and speed. Dragonforce has been one of my favorite bands ever since OzzFest. I dont have much else to say about them, other than, if you havent listened to them, you should.
People often find DF to be monotonous and needing a change in sound. Well, people like them for their sound now, changing risks their fanbase. I like the sound they possess now and It wouldnt bother me if they changed their sound. Three excellent albums is more than enough for me.

its weird. for the last couple of weeks, dragonforce have almost broken through the 'mainstreams'. i mean, people who listen to 'our lady peace' 'james blunt' 'guns n roses' and other stuff have been talking about this band. and its weird becuase...not taht many metal bands are often mentioned with mainstream stuff.

now what i think of the band? umm...i dont really hate them. nor do i love them. although, i think herman li is truly an amazing guitarist. not only is he insanly technical, but as a left handed, he plays a right handed guitar. you dont see guitarists doing that all too much. and he uses with whammy bar pretty well as well. dont see that many people doing that either.

The guys are crazy! They are great musicians but the music has too much guitar solos for my taste and the first time when I heard them (it was "Evening star") I thoght they have female vocal which turned wrong at the end apparently

i went out and bought 'sonic firestorm' and 'inhuman rampage' after hearing a few of there more popular songs, and let me say ive never been more thouroughly disapointed, dont get me wrong, theres a few amazing tracks, but all the other songs are total bland repetitive fillers, and like previously stated sound like a bunch of random riffs thrown together, sure theyve got amazing talent, but whats it worth if you cant write worth crap?

dude 'Inhuman Rampage' is album of the year for me so far! DragonForce are amazing, their music is so much fun

Arcade/Video Game music and Power Metal blended together! How awesome is that?!

Well, as much as I like listening to DragonForce (they always put me in a good mood!), I do feel somewhat ashamed to like them as much as I do. I mean, take the latest album, Inhuman Rampage. Every song sounds like a slight variation on 'Through the Fire and Flames', except for 'Trail of Broken Hearts', which sounds like any of their previous ballads. Sure they've found a formula that works, but surely a little bit of variation never hurt anyone? Anyway, I do like them enough to see them live in a few weeks, with Firewind. I would have rather seen them with Edguy and Sabaton, since Edguy are one of my favourite bands ever, but hey, I'll still get to see some pretty decent fretwanking...

The point I was making was that both bands have the habit of making all their songs sound the same, but it is DragonForce who catches all the shit!

Sorry, but the same argument could be made for Iron Maiden, just maiden and motorhead's good songs are really, really damn excellent, while dragonforce's best songs are just good.

Dragonforce really let me down, their first 2 albums are brilliant but their third is just really boring, its alllthe same i hope its 'the difficult third album syndrome' and not a look at what will come. I went to see them at rock city and they were upstaged by the support band! at the end of the gig people were shouting for the support to come back and do the encore! The support was Edguy though

i mostly listen to death metal but then i heard the new song through fire and the flames... first i thought what fucking sissy who is playing metal and sings like that... but then i heard the song one more time and i actualy thought it was good! i have only heard a few song from them.. but is a good variation to death metal some times hehe

You sound confused. No offence, but 1) calling power metal sissy metal betrays your own insecurity, and 2) Going hey cool the second time you hear it shows you just haven't listened to enough power metal at all.


And I agree, power metal and prog is nice variation to death and grindcore. Give it a try, but perhaps with better bands.

It's so fucking stupid how Death metal fans act like fuckwads by calling Power Metal sissy! Are they jealous that Power Metallers can outplay Death Metallers on every instrument except drums Is it because us Power Metallers are so bad ass that you'll find no Nu-Metal idiots at our shows it's like, "Don't fucking hate me because I'm beautiful" you know what I mean? Certain people should really Grow up!

But anyways on topic, i don't understand people who were disappointed with DragonForce's latest effort, I'd say it's easily their best release!

Calm down danziggy1111, I don't think he mean't it as an attack, even if it came out as one. Not to mention that most power metal bassists are nonexistent :p - On that note, I wasn't too dissapointed with the album, I just found it boring and spiritless...but then again, I had low expectations.

I've come to the conclusion that DragonForce are overestimated, to repetitive. Still I can't help to smile when I hear them ... it's strange

Also DragonForce's singer, I'm sure he took some tricks from Iron Maiden's singer but you don't see Death Metallers bagging on Maiden......

Some people do, some people don't, ignorance is not something easily cured - at the same time, it's just a kind of fake "superior-than-thou" attitude to hide their own insecurities.
