I got their dvd a couple of months ago. I think they are great live as far as I could see. Oh and the crowd was very enthusiastic and into the music, we must recognize that too. Angela's voice makes its presence and the Michael/Chris combination was nothing less than perfect. Which kinda makes sad now, and curious to see how will this new guitarist work with Michael in the new songs. If those two will make sparks as the brothers did. Hopefully they can move on and still be creative as before.

Yeah, I cant wait to see how the new album will turn out, I have a good feeling about this.

Ha, Gus G. from Firewind played lead guitar on 'Taking Back my Soul" on Doomsday Machine! Just a bit of trivia there for you. But Amott's are top notch, no doubt about it, too bad Chris left .

Anyway, does anyone know when the new album is due for release?

Hmmm... no.... dont know. But i just know that Im REALLY looking forward listening to it. I like all their albums, i think their music is going to right way...

Last time i was just wondering if they would have had the same success with a male vocalist.. I dont think so..
But when i asked my mother she told me she didnt notice that the singer was a woman...... *thinks*

I think the fact that it is a woman singing draws a lot of listeners at first, then after the initial shock it makes no difference. It's still one of my favorite things to let people here them for the first time, especially a sont like "Nemesis" with the loud and long scream at the beginning, then say "Yeah, so that's a girl signing." Blows everyone away.

they are in the middle of writing it as far as i know,,, so it will tak e ahile before we see a new arch enemy.

but yeah ,,, again too bad chris left, his solos had a better feeling that Mike's, Mike's soloinf is more pentatonic and such,, Chris had some awesome melodies!!

too bad i'm only discovering this now while watching the Live Apocalypse dvd, i didn't know which one was playing which solo before

There was an interview on MS with Daniel last november i think and he said that in the begining of the new year (2007) they will start recording. This would mean they started with the recording process allready. But wouldn't they have mentioned it on their site? Oh well, i hope it's out by the end of the year.

@ AmRo: don't know any guitar theory so don't know what the pentatonic scale is but in my opinion Michael's solos are better. It sounds like he's really feeling them. Chris' were good but it just seemed like he was playing as fast as he could resulting in a lack of expressing emotions.

While looking for that link, I found a story that I apparentely missed. In an interview with guitarist Michael Amott, he mentions that Chris could come back to the band. You can read the story here.

I began to listen to Arch Enemy and... woow, yes a great band, a great singer with good screams! but when I saw the line up... a woman??? I was a bit shocked... I spent months believing to hear a man! lol however I have a great respect for Angela Gossow, she's got the balls!!! what a great woman!!

Lol, yeah I've done that a few times. Always gets a funny reaction.

Anways, I love Arch Enemy. As an extreme metal vocalist, I draw alot of influence from Angela's style. She has so much power and lots of charisma on stage. They need to write some new material already.

I love Arch Enemy!!! best song from them is Nemesis, the beginning of it is just amazing!!!

I really like this band. They really are one of the best bands in the genre.

Time ago I had heard that Angelica is the former Arch Enemy singer who changed his sex and became.... Angelica(!!!). Is it truth or just rumours..? Although they are a great band. Dead eyes see no future is absolutely their best song ever!

They put on a really awesome show when I saw them about a year ago, I really hope they come back with both of the Ammott brothers this time.

If we're talking vocalists... Im not sure who I prefer, both are very good, However, Id probably say I prefer the style of Gossow...

@BloodTears: Thanks Yeah I find them both really good...but I don't know what it is but there is something about Gossow's voice and style that just make it a little bit better
