I noticed that most topics on here are either guitar or drum based. There doesn't seem to be a topic about alternate instruments.

Didgeridoos, Djembe's, Jew's harps, Saxophones, Steel drums, Triangles stuff like that. I'm sure people here play stuff apart from the usual guitars, keyboards and drums.

Post videos or pics of the crazy instruments you play (preferably you playing it or your instrument) maybe its something you find only in your country. It would be interesting to see the different instruments that people play.

I play a bit of didge and jew's harp. I will post some pics later as I don't have any on me right now. I'm quite sure there are more people here who play different instruments. Maybe its not metal, but who cares. I'm sure the didge can be incorporated in metal, its fucking heavy and can be used with doom or drone stuff.

I hope there ain't another similar topic, I checked, but i couldn't find anything. There was something for violins and cellos, but we can still add those in here too

More people should play the hammered dulcimer.

I think most people haven't even heard of that... I know I haven't. :\

I played some other instruments while at school, but not really outside of that. I did once try and play my dad's harmonica, but I was totally rubbish at it. No playing "The Wizard" for me!

I only heard of it recently with Joe's review of Botanist's debut album. Then I looked it up on Wikipedia. Tis a strange instrument indeed.

I can play Darbuka just for fun, I'm not professional or anything.

I learn tambura in school, because I somehow ended up in a music class and it's mandatory to study an instrument or join the school chorus.

Do you have to be hammered to play it ?

I can play a bit of djembe as well, not great, but I can keep a groove. Its quite similar looking to the darkbuka
