i was advised to ask here rather in general forum, so i do : i'm searching for some web page where i can find some of my favourite metal songs' melodies writen in notes...i have tried to copy them by hearing, but i'm not Mozart and what is for me particulary posible by Korpiklaani simple melodies is impossible by complex symphonies by Nightwish...don't any one know such a page or something? (i'm searching especially Ghost Love Score, but it can be also other songs, that doesn't matter)

Get Guitar Pro. At least in the latest version, you can hide the tablatures and show notation only. Too bad the trial is limited for 30 days, though. Of course, as the gp-notes are submitted by inviduals, they're often not all that correct, but it's something to begin with, no? http://911tabs.com/ is a good source for the tabs once you have Guitar Pro.

the thing is you could just install the program, keep the installation kit and after 30 days, get rid of it and install it again!

Guitar pro one way, another way is to get Power tab editor, it's free but the library of tabs is much smaller than GP.

Notes in GP format are unreliable. Mostly there is a few mistakes, sometimes it has even nothing to do with the song. The best, and the only good, are original sheets...I have many if you want.

i have about 30 GP sheets from ultimate guitars...many of them are good and you recognize the original melodies...but they are ALWAYS far from the original... and 2Slayertplsko : yes i'm definitely interested in original sheets since you are from Slovakia and i am from CZ we can talk about it further via ICQ or so, or? (my icq is 266407491)

14.01.2008 - 21:24 Written by Born-2rise on 14.01.2008 at 21:11 You can go to a website like http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/ and search the band or song and download tablature in Guitar PRO format. Not always 100% but you can check the ratings to find the best one.

If you're looking for actual notation, and not tabs, try out midi, if you can get a good midi program, you and find pretty much any song on the internet.

Guitar Pro is the best, believe me. Simple to work with and pretty reliable. Of course, nothing is 100% correct, but i still think guitar pro is the best when it comes to stuff like this.

Guitar Pro may be the best tab program out there, and you can find almost any song for it, Power Tab is completely free.

I'm back after a year. I had some troubles with my PC so that's why I was absent. So these are my sheet books (some for guitar and vocals only, some include full band scores...e.g. all Deep Purple scores, Led Zeppelin, Queensryche, Helloween etc.): (the one entitled Stars.pdf is the 1980s all-star metal charity song by project called Hear N' Aid...includes singers like RJ Dio, Rob Halford, Geoff Tate, Don Dokken and guitarists like George Lynch Yngwie Malmsteen, Neal Schon etc....here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZktrrqT1A0)

Someone please come up with some really good site that I can upload it to. I could upload them gradually, but rapidshare has slowed down the speed and always had horrible upload speed...something with good upload speed welcome. Then I can start uploading.

16.08.2008 - 13:46 Written by Haightredy on 17.04.2008 at 00:44 The problem with the midi is that some instruments which involve both hads (like piano) are in a single track, so you've got both hands in one score and sometimes it's a really big mess, believe me. Probably the most useful software is DC++. If you find a good hub (which isn't such a big problem), you can find a lot of sheet books there in .pdf or some image format (.tiff, .jpg etc.). This is how I gathered all my sheet books. I also used to have a lot of classical music notes, but they're gone somehow.

Due to copyright, mysongbook ceased providing tabs two years ago as you may know. Text tablatures are useless since besides frequent mistakes, they don't give you any information about the rhythm. Guitar Pro isn't bad at all, but still there are many mistakes in some tabs. The best option is if you can get the original sheet book, because this due to the fact they're mostly published by that-which artist/band, are likely to be free of mistakes. Another advantage is that you might get the whole album (like Iron Maiden's Powerslave etc.).

As for the Guitar Pro-talk. Try Tux Guitar. It's basically the same program, but this one is free. http://tuxguitar.herac.com.ar/
