Orange Goblin - To Enter Studio In May

Orange Goblin will enter a recording studio in London at the end of May 2009 to record what will be their 7th studio album and first for new label Candlelight. Production on this one will be handled by Sanford Parker who has recently produced albums by the likes of Nachtmystium, Lair Of The Minotaur, Pelican, Rwake, Unearthly Trance, Venemous Concept, Minsk, Buried At Sea, and more.

Orange Goblin vocalist Ben Ward said "We are excited at the prospect of working with Sanford, we are all big fans of his work with bands like Pelican, Nachtmystium, and Lair Of The Minotaur, and I'm sure he will add a new element to what we do in Orange Goblin. It's inspiring to work with someone new that 'gets' exactly what we are about and Sanford's enthusiasm to work with us made him an obvious choice!"

The album should be due for release in September 2009.

In other news, Orange Goblin recently announced their main stage appearance on the Roadburn Festival in April (at Tilburg, The Netherlands). The whole performance will be recorded for a limited edition, vinyl only live album to be released on Roadburn Records.

I always forget about Orange Goblin. Everytime I remember them and listen I like what I hear. Its good old fashioned stoner metal

according to my spellcheck, stoner isn't a word. I find that odd

Neither is "Nu" (I think) and it also defines a genre...

As long as we're talking about words not being in dictionaries, I have a children's dictionary that I was given for winning the school spelling bee in 5th grade. That dictionary has a lot of words missing. Heck, it doesn't even have the word "monolith" in it.

Not even Monolithe with the "e" at the end?

Anyways, about this news, that producer has a pretty nice resume behind him, hopefully it will show in the album.

Yeah, it doesn't have that one, either.
