We were talking about pets in another topic, and it would be an off topic if we wanted to talk there about pets...
So I searched the general forums to bring the discussion into the Pets topic, but surprisingly I found no Pets topic.. How would it possible to have Jonas in the forum and have no Pets topics..
Anyway.. In case my search wasn't deep and there is a Pets topic here, lock here and we discuss about it in the topic.. And if no, lets talk about Pets here.. Some people have pets, some people (like me) want to own a pet and both groups may need some tips for taking care or buying tips..
So all come here and discuss..

... Any way maybe you can give a chimpanzee a hug, but I'm not sure you can go further with it..

The hug is enough i won't go further.
Seriousely it's so sad when people want wild animals as pets...A friend of mine had an eagle.
Yeah, I had Morgh-e-eshgh some years ago and they're really nice.
...Also a Parrot, keeping a parrot is really hard if, everyday, you're not home more than 10 hours and no one else will pay him/her enough attention, they'll be sick if bored...You can buy them in pairs so they'll entertain eachother when left alone but the problem of this solution is that they'll ignore you then! I don't want my parrot cheat on me for another parrot.

Well, I don't think that chimpanzee is an wild animal, is it? They can learn and make good communications with man so, they can be kept in house.. But not eagle obviously.. You didn't tell that you have an Arab friend, because mostly Arabs like to keep wild birds..

And yes, I like parrot too.. But how much for a talking parrot should I pay here? I don't about the price.. They might me interesting and in the same time noisy.. But what I need, is some pets that easily can be kept.. No shitting, no especial foods, no trainings.. Just something lovely and easy As we say in our language, goshaadi (easy to deal with it)..

By wild i mean those animals that won't reproduce ouside their natural environment so are captured directly from nature, carried in terrible conditions, many die during long travels untill the remaining few end up in cages in stores. According to this classification even some kinds of Parrots are wild.
Believe it or not, i FOUND my Parrot! So have no idea about the exact price, but it shouldn't be less than 1,000,000 Tomans.
You'd better buy a young one that isn't thaught many words already, because young ones will learn fast and you can teach them whatever you want, more importantly will get closer to you. There is no difference between males and females in larning ability...You just have to be patient...There's a good book written by Petra Dimer(not sure about the spelling) and translate by DR. Ali Farshchi.

If you want something that is easy, lovely, no noise, no shitting, no training, no spesial food then i think you've got no choice but Toxidermy!
But if you want something living What about an aquarium?

I have a dog. She's an English Pointer and she's pretty cool The only bad thing, but I guess it's the same with every female dog, is taking care of her when she's in heal. Ugh! It's disgusting, but that's the only thing. I wanted a Bull Terrier, I love those dogs, but my mom doesn't like it and they preferred this one which they gave to my 2 younger brothers.

Well, I don't think that chimpanzee is an wild animal, is it?

Well...I somehow never liked these animals....they're ugly as hell...speaking of being witty and stuff, dolphins...well...even cats and dogs will do it so it's really pointless to say "These animals are stupid and these animals are smart"...

Bout monkeys...there are some really pretty monkeys out there who are small and colourful and look nice...
Chimpanzee? No way! Wild animal? Hell yes!

That's a woman whose entire face, jaw, nose, eyeballs, entire front part of skull were eaten by a chimpanzee who also ripped off her hands...

So...chimpanzees are definitely not cute....

I'm a cat person I guess...altho I don't have any cat but mayb one day I'll have.....

For me, when I look at my country's president, I say chimpanzee is so cute..
But anyway I don't really think chimpanzee is ugly as hell.. Why?
Look:

I think chimpanzee is funny as hell, and I like such animal for sure.. Some animals are beautiful like fish, mesmerizing beauty.. But it never makes fun for you.. But chimpanzee does. In addition, chimpanzee are one the wisest species of apes, if I'm correct.. So if I was able to buy one, I would do it for sure..

Chimps ARE wild animals, make no mistake there. Sure, they're really intelligent and everything, but they're still wild. For that reason I wouldn't support someone having one as a pet.

I live with a pack of purebred American bulldogs...they demand lots of attention and the bitch is a whiny shit-eating psychopath...they (the people I live with) breed her and stud him out for cash...in short, I live in a crazy house...it has helped me to deal with dogs though...dogs don't ever think of fucking with me...they start barking at me and being all aggressive yet the moment I step into their space and they smell the bulldogs and I walk right into them they back off immediately...even the crazy ones...it has also helped me deal with my own species face to face...no matter who it is, if you just stand your ground and better then the person you are dealing with (like dogs) and show your dominance no matter what situation (emotional/physical) they will eventually pack down and give in...just don't give in is basically the key with a K9...

I'd rather say it was sleeping at the moment or just laying there with closed eyes. They don't look THAT young. I've had a rat as well, um, for about a week because my mother doesn't like rats, so I gave it away to my friend. It actually looked very alike the one which is on the bottom in that picture.

I have a cat. He's 2,5 years old and he's br00tal!

show your dominance no matter what situation (emotional/physical) they will eventually pack down and give in...just don't give in is basically the key with a K9...

The mistake many people make when taking dogs as pets is by dealing with them the wrong way. When the dog is small and cute one must not be all "OH WHAT A CUTIE YOU ARE! OH you're so sweet!" You must not let the dog lick yourself, jump on you or anything....if one lets this happen the dog will grow to be the dominant side and when it grows big, there's no way to re-train it....for the dog there's no difference if it's a human or another dog....everyone surrounding the dog is a member of the pack...if you deliberately show yourself as the "giving-in" side, then the dog will take the leader position and then it'll basically do whatever it wants....dog raising is a whole art...there's books bout these but sad thing is that a lot of people don't know a shit bout it and then they are "Who do you think you are to tell me that! My dog's so cute and loves me....I know everything!"...well...if a dog has not been properly trained, you may say it loves you but it'll definitely not obey you....

A sign of it are dogs who bark endlessly and jump etc on random people....if properly trained, they will not bark at every passer-by...they know the situation when to open their mouths...they know their tasks and their functions...it's actually sad when people get a dog, act all fluffy and nice with it when it's small and then chain it up in their garden thinking it'll understand everything...no...the animal gets a trauma and becomes a maniac...

Well the picture doesn't really help make them look small because it's quite close in.
The smallest is, I would say three inches long.

Oh, I wasn't saying they look like grown-up rats but they also don't look as small as they were when they were born. However, they look very cute.

I have 2 Ball Pythons and am working towards getting a Brazillian Rainbow Boa within a year or so after I build a tank and get everything I need to of course. The best pet I know of anyone having was an Alligator. My brother and his then college roommate Adam bought an alligator on eBay. When it arrived he was almost dead but came back, so they called it Jesus. He got big quick and would just shred lobster and fish to pieces... the little guy was awesome. They released him into the wild and he was found by a teacher at Frostburg State University. It's in the papers if you look it up. Fucking hilarious!

So the little ginger rat is male and the other two are female. Looks like I'll just be having the two girls then. They are bigger and older (although still young), and of a more similar age - it's just a shame because the ginger one is the most friendly. Oh well, I know who I'm giving him to, so he'll be fine.

So these are the two I'm keeping:

@ Baz Your rats are so cute. It's shame that not so many people want to have rats as pets.

I have an African Pygmy Hedgehog called Onni. He's almost 2 years and 3 months old, which means he's nearly middle-aged. He's very antisocial, but I love him very much, he's my baby boy (the feeling is not mutual). I've uploaded a photo of him in my profile.

I'd like to have a dog, but I have to wait for a couple of more years, because my sister is allergic and she still visits home too often. I can't wait to move on my own. :

Hahaha, I didn't know you could even keep hedgehogs as pets. Can you buy them in Finland, or do you steal them from the side of the road?

Yeh, my mum hasn't met the rats and she doesn't seem keen on the idea - which is a shame because they are very friendly. Very intelligent too.

I finally gave them names!! (Well, the two I have now... the black one is now in someone else's care because I thought it was growing some gentleman's parts... so I hopefully have two sisters now!)
