The Rhodendoom II track sounds like it was recorded with Bagpipes. Still i do not dislike it as much as Troy or others does. Cause i'm really psyched about what he does with it.

Clearly the allies track "The War of all against all" is much better. Check it out.

It seems like Botanist jumped from Hammered Dulcimer Black Metal to Hammered Dulcimer Doom Metal considering hwo the songs are composed and the slower moments. Cool.

It's quite the opposite actually. The names in the brackets are the bands that are playing Botanist songs

It is a truly beautiful album cover.

and the digital download comes with different album art for every track: "The War Of All Against All" shows a portrait of Carl von Linné, the Swedish botanist.

+1 for the sexy cover.

I actually really like this. Just ordered it online, can't wait to look at that album art on the actual case
EDIT: Just found their first release for 7 bucks... can't pass that up.

I own both and they look wonderful Specially love the debut. Nice botanic pics all over the digipak. Still haven't heard this album though just a few tracks.

I think they're both on the same level really. The debut is a tad better, but all in all they're both great.

From what I remember this seems hella slower. The songwriting took a different direction almost like.... doomy(?). Doesn't have the blasting velocity.

I did notice that. It doesn't really affect the quality of the music, but rather allowed for a pleasant expansion on the writing style

Oh definitely. Even if I loved the debut it can still be a bit *too* much with the blasting music. This is more of a chill out album.... Except the second album though but that one is a compltely different thing.

Finally getting around to this now. Added it to a Spotify playlist and it displays a new pic for each song! Love it.

I still haven't heard the whole thing. Well, I think I did but it was months ago so I don't remember everything. The dude definitely took a more atmospheric approach here and left most of the black metal concept except for he vocals. I'd say this is the closest Botanist gets to be Dulcimer Doom Metal hahahahaha.

Hhahaha wouldn't surprise me. the debut is a hard pill to swallow... Or maybe not, you either love it or hate it. I love it. A daring album. He went a bit safer here but still very innovative.

Really enjoying the Allies album right now. Almost more than the actual album. Nymphaea Carulea is such a tune.

Yeah I adore the Allies part of this album. Honestly I like it more than anything Botanist themselves made alone.
