I just found this at a used CD store recently and I have to say, this is one of the more interesting releases I've heard in a while.

Over two years later, and that day I commented above (other comment is me) is probably the day responsible for my current musical tastes. To say Outre' has influenced my current stylistic preferences would be an understatement. So glad I randomly bought this on that day two years ago solely because I liked the artwork. Best purchase ever.

Old post is old but I was spinning this a few nights ago and... yeah, it's hard to think of death metal quite as abysmal as this. First time I heard it I remember being totally transfixed with the guitars because I had just never heard anything that pushed the "low wall of sound" idea so far. It says a lot that, like Blut Aus Nord, Portal have influenced a lot of bands but there still aren't really any bands that do their formula quite like they do

I have never been interested in noise experiments. I can accept the use of this element in a few places in the album to improve the overall listening experience of the album, but I cannot appreciate it as the overall creative tone. Except for a few that really move me, most of them I think are quite noisy.
