I love DevilDriver and cannot wait for this release. Beast was an awesome album and if this is close to as good it will be great.

"Beast" was definitely the heaviest and harshest Devildriver album to date. This one is groovier, more catchy, and less death metal in sound than it's predecessor. Still good though, I like it!

Ya it's not too often someone thinks of DevilDriver as thrash. Maybe like an alternative form of thrash (basically groove metal as deadone pointed out).

Good riffs, but isn't the best album of the band.

Best of the last 3, imo. But doesn't hold a candle to the 2nd or 3rd albums. I'm also one of the few people who really liked the debut.

Possibly my favourite. Just seems a bit more direct and down to earth and fun (not that DevlDriver have ever been anything else really) or maybe because it's closest to Coal Chamber. Could just be because I heard it when it first came out.

I was a huge Coal Chamber fan at the time and I went to Best Buy as it was closing to pick it up the day it came out. Fond memories. It's just a heavier, groovier, more focused take on Coal Chamber. And the vocals are pretty damn intense, like on "Die and Die Now."

I was under the impression that people hated the debut because it sounded too much like Coal Chamber.

Alas still doesn't make it any less boring or cookie cutter. I wonder if Dez restarted Coal Chamber cause of the lack of progress with Devil Driver?

Perhaps, but the result was possibly the most cookie-cutter release of the year.

Devildriver at their worse is still laughably better than anything Coal Chamber has ever done.

I need to revisit Devildriver discography. Remember this was a very entertaining. Last ones are a bit meh, but perhaps i would need to give them one more chance
