Morbid Angel - To Reissue 'Covenant' On Vinyl

Originally released in 1993, Covenant, the classic album from death metal legends Morbid Angel, is due to be reissued in Europe on limited edition Full Dynamic Range vinyl LP to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album's release. Don't forget that the band will be also playing the album in its entirety on their upcoming US tour.

Covenant is the band's third album and has been specially remastered from the original tapes in Full Dynamic Range (FDR) audio, allowing the music's nuances to shine through and giving the album "a more ferocious, immersive and dynamic sound than ever before."

Vocalist/bassist David Vincent comments: "Covenant was and still remains a very important release in our career. We are all excited to revisit this album in celebration of its 20th anniversary, both on stage and on wax. For purists and vinyl aficionados alike, this new full dynamic master pressing is sure to illuminate the analog sonic fury that we captured in 1993."

The vinyl will be available in the following quantities and colours:

  • 100 - Green (Earache Webstore exclusive) **
  • 200 - Clear (Earache Webstore exclusive) **
  • 200 - Dark Blue with Light Blue Splatter *

  • 300 - White with Black Splatter **
  • 400 - Clear with Red Marble **

The Covenant Full Dynamic Range vinyl

So this is why they fuck up CD releases: To sell "full dynamic range vinyls"...

(this doesn't especially apply to MA)

Nothing wrong with this. In fact, very interesting for those who haven't got the first pressing or for those (including me) who want to expand their collection with some good extra stuff

From what I've noticed, Morbid Angel has never really fucked up any of the remastered CDs. I have the remastered version of Altars of Madness and it sounds just about as good as the original (maybe even better), unlike a lot of other remasters that completely fuck up the sound of the original. If anything, this just shows that they're able to reissue an album and try to retain the sound quality of the original, whether it be CD or vinyl.

More so Steve's incident with that middle eastern band.

Steve's been out of Morbid Angel for about 9 years now. Abit lame to ignore a band due to behaviour of a past member.

It's also a bit lame to allow negative opinions of a band's current output to cloud judgement of the band's past works.
