Tasteful evolution. If there ever was a phrase to describe Dark Fortress, that, right there, is it. They're never ones to reinvent the wheel, but why should they? They've crafted their own sound without any extravagant gimmicks, they don't take risks, but they also never really misstep. With each album, Dark Fortress just defines their sound a little more. Kind of bored me a lot of the time. Cool for one listen but I won't be revisiting this one. It doesn't help that the album is 70 minutes long.

Very disappointed. By far not as good as their 4 previous albums  When I first listened it I just thought the songs have a slow start only to get intresting later. But after a few listens I can safely say that most of all these songs never get intresting at all. I knew they would change their sound again but this is just plain boring and not the Dark Fortress I know. RIP yet another good band that seems to be out of ideas.

My favorite release so far this year! I love the long lingering tracks. Great concept too! This is my first experience with Dark Fortress. Are their other albums similar? Which one should I purchase next?

After just one spin I can't say I want to revisit it. The album simply is WAY too long for that. And it really doesn't offer anything new. Not much variety to be found here. So I guess I'm with Frudd/Frodd/Fradd (or whatever the hell his name is  ) and Zaphod on this one.

This is not MBM what band plaid, hard to label, but mayeb gothic touch, but its diferent album but good, better as latest few no doubt, more you listen, more you like, long souns, acoustic pasages, female guest vocals, this is album to like.

I went to see Dark Fortress last night and they blew me away. It's such a shame we won't be hearing any more new music from this fantastic band because cometh the end of this tour, that's it for them.  I played this opus during the drive back home. Not a second of the 1 hour and 11 minutes are wasted, but my highlights are 'Chrysalis' and 'Luciform'. Dark Fortress albums take a lot of time and a few spins to weave their majesty, but the reward is great.
