IIRC Dr. X started a similar topic in the old forum. Anyway, I thought I just as well a start a new one here. With Traditional Doom Metal I mean Sabbath-based bluesy Doom with clean vocals. Thus the thread is meant for bands like for Saint Vitus, Trouble and Candlemass but not My Dying Bride or Katatonia.

Written by ForeverDarkWoods on 27.12.2010 at 13:19 I hear those two in there as well but as almost third rate versions of them. Pagan Altar I already consider borderline doom and Cirith Ungol even less. Oh btw I am a huge Pagan Altar fan myself and also enjoy Cirith Ungol immensely.

It's a sad day for doom metal. The legendary forum Hellride music finally announced that in two weeks the website will close forever. I used to check the old threads from there and I managed to found quite some great bands. That place was like the myspace of doom metal musicians. R.I.P.

Doom metal team from Oulu Wolfshead parted way whit vocalist Tero Laine. It happened in a may. Band has new so far anonymous singer. May 7 We have parted ways with our vocalist Tero Laine due mutual decision. We wish to thank Tero for great job he did fronting this band for 10 years and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors. Sorcerer updates: Sunday afternoon and the fall is almost here making perfect time for some somber, gloomy doom.
