Potentiam - Reunite To Perform Debut Album In Its Entirety

Icelandic black metal band, Potentiam, hasn't been active in quite a while since its band members have been busy with their other bands like Kontinuum and Katla. But a one-off reunion seems to come next year at Reykjavik Metalfest 2019, where the band will perform their debut album Bálsýn in its entirety for its 20th anniversary.

The band has confirmed that this is their only plan at the moment, and it seems that the planned new album may never see the light of day. In a previous post in 2014, the band said: "Drums have been recorded, all of us are busy in other projects at the moment, we don't want to rush this one out. It has all been written and will come."

The festival posted the following message: "When the idea was tossed around the office to get this legendary Icelandic act back on stage we considered this a "never gonna happen but doesn't hurt asking" kind of idea! Obviously, we were wrong and seeing Potentiam deliver its majestic gothic black metal live in 2019, on the twentieth anniversary of Bálsýn, the band's debut album, will be great!"

Guðmundur Óli Pálmason, who played drums on the record, confirmed that he has no part in the reunion.

And what a debut this is!

It's my most favourite Icelandic / and BM album of all time. Wonder if there will be any live recordings of the show...
