I have mixed feelings about these classic artists selling their music rights to labels. While I can understand the idea of off-loading a lot of red tape onto folks who are willing to take it on, but it also means that corporations have more control over music accessibility and availability. How will this get resolved in future decades when these classic songs are supposed to fall into the public domain? Will they insist on pushing back on it, so that they retain their control for as long as possible?

I don't know if there's a good answer.
