This is another Canadian thrash truck heading towards you, rampaging with raw, unadulterated, intense, unhinged thrash metal.
Hailing from Quebec, Aggression's journey began with three demos and appearances on New Renaissance Records' compilations Thrash Metal Attack and Speed Metal Hell II. In 1987, Aggression found a new home with Banzai Records, a Canadian label that specialized in distributing clandestine metal releases. This partnership resulted in the release of The Full Treatment, a fierce, musical onslaught with tracks like "Demolition" and "By The Reaping Hook" exhibiting brief moments of guitar intricacy amidst the chaos. The epic "The Final Massacre" stands out for its extended, complex structure, while "Frozen Aggressor" features dynamic rhythmic shifts. Frontman Pierre “Cactus Pete” Fleurant’s hoarse, jagged vocals perfectly complement the band’s savage sound. Guitarist Denis “Sasquatch” Barthe adds a touch of variety with his distinct vocal contributions on "One For The Woods".
The album subtly weaves shades of progressive thrash into its ferocious core, occasionally stretching out moments of melody amidst the relentless assault. But hardcore enthusiasts will likely embrace its unrelenting spirit and raw attitude as a badge of honor. If you crave an underappreciated, unfettered, and uncompromising thrash fest powerful enough to kick a jolt in a bull's ballsack, then The Full Treatment is your recipe. If you're looking for albums similar to The Full Treatment, it's closest to Anihilated's Created In Hate and Ironchrist's Getting The Most Out Of Your Extinction.
This album is straightforward, unrelenting thrash metal that takes a good health checkup of your spinal cord. With my sole intention to bring this to your attention, it's an outstanding release that won't disappoint you.
