When a band gets the official "Nasum GRIND SEAL OF APPROVAL", you know you have to check it out.
The band is Unrest and they said it loud and clear: they've been put on this earth to grind - Nasum-style. And the distance separating these young Americans from their grindols didn't prevent them from being heard and given an official thumb up. Ah the joys of the grindternet... I should start describing this début of theirs, and without further grindieu, I give you, Grindcore!
And grindeed it grinds. You can expect just the same frenzy of blargh blargh vocals and chaotic blasts driven by almost groovy guitar and bass. Unrest adopted the more modern and polished persona of the Swedish masters. There's nothing more fun than grind done well, and Grindcore is definitely a good example of it.
However, what's stopping the criminal cases of sloth, that I know you are, from just going back to Helvete or Shift? Personality. Unrest still manage to have their own. The differences lie in the lower pitch of the vocals, and overall heaviness of their playing which is brought a notch higher. One could also notice that the three-piece BabyNasum are more fond of mid-paced passages as well as longer songs. The death metal grindfluence feels more grimdportant in general and it makes the whole grindifference.

Also, I didn't think it was necessary to mention the d-beat bits in the review because I stupidly assumed everyone knew of Nasum, sorry. And thanks, happy to oblige  .

There are a couple moments like that scattered around the album if I remember correctly, but it's really minimal though. One of the guys is in the bm band Woe, so that explains it. I found the production to be super clear and yet didn't kill the gritty feel of their playing, it explains the 9. I don't mind a little dirt in my grind, but sometimes a super clean record doesn't hurt.
