Third album by this great Finnish band, their music could be best described like a mixture of dark, somber Metal with some good 'ol Rock N' Roll, this album will sure please fans of the band, "Man's Ruin Revisited" contains 12 tracks of catchy songs that go from straight Rock N' Roll songs to some more driven to the Gothic area.
The real highlight of this album is the fantastic voice of Taneli Jarva, his deep, dark and "dirty" voice will pleasure all his fans, since this is his best vocal delivery so far, the conviction of every word he pronounces is remarkable.
The whole vibe these guys emanate can be easily described by taking a look at the cover art, a drunken guy in a bar, and some slut in the background, lots of cigarettes, casino cards and several bottles of booze, that's what's The Black League is all about.
Among the killer songs in this album we have the opener track "Old World Monkey" , the funny "Cold Women, Warm Beer" , "Crooked Mile" and "Ain't No Friend O' Mine" .
Some downpoint might be that this isn't metal enough for some people, but if you got a open mind and you like to explore other terrains once in a while, go and get this one right away.
Hope this guys get the recognition they deserve since they're virtually unknown outside Finland, and they remain one of the most underrated bands out there. Like the promo says: PLAY IT LOUD OR DON'T FUCKING PLAY IT AT ALL!
