"In Excelesis Dementia" is the 3rd and new album of a French Black Metal band, Destinity. After 1 year and their 2nd album "Under The Smell Of Chaos" [through Adipocere Records], the band does its come back into the metal scene with some changes in their music.

If the last album of Destinity was some true Symphonic Black Metal music, this new one is a bit different. In fact, now the music is more Death and definitely less symphonic. The keyboards aren't so present and we have some Death riffs a la Morbid Angel. The music of Destinity is however really good, certainly in reason that the guys are really good musicians. The singers [I can talk about singers because three members of the band sing on that album] have a really good voice. No problem with the Death, Black or clean voices, it's always really good. Same with the guitars riffs that sound sometime Black but also Death with thundering drums.

About the music, well a lot of songs are very aggressive very heavy but also melodic and it's a real good point. Maybe the only problem of this album is the fact that sometime it's a bit common anot original. But it's definitely not bad at the opposite, and at the end this album is catchy if you like black metal, but it's also ok if you're a fan of Death Metal.
The lyrics, sometime in English sometime in French, are very well done and the fact that the band sing in French is a good point I think, because this language sound really good for Black Metal.

Also let me say that the production is really excellent, the sound is perfect and the album is very well mixed. The artwork and the lay out by Steve "Zuul" Petit ex No Return are very well done too. The band deserves some congratulations for that.

"In Excelesis Dementia" is a good production, no doubt. Well maybe that it is not very original but anyway, the band does its work on this album and at the end I'm sure that all the Black Metal fans who like melodic parts in their music will love this combo. Same for the Detah Metal fans who will certainly like the strong riffs that we can find in the album. A good and promising album, with a great production, that will probably put the band near of the level of the best bands of the genre.
