Before you keep reading this review, probably mesmerized by the beautiful cover art, I must warn you that this is not exactly Metal, is rather more Electronic Gothic music, so... why does a release like this graces the webpages of such a renowned webzine as Metal Storm? Well, lately I've been discovering more and more links between Metal and Gothic and 80's music, and as a matter of fact, many Metalheads are lovers of this kind of music, so I thought that I could review a Gothic/Wave album once in a while, if you disagree with me, well, stop reading and skip right to the next review.
Like I was saying, this album is pure Gothic Music with electronic instruments and all kinds of synthesizer effects, how does it sounds? Very refreshing I must say.
The Crüxshadows mix perfectly the electronic instruments to create a groovy atmosphere, but not danceable, on top of that a violin in most of the songs add a gloomy touch to the music.
Catchy rhythms and memorable chorus lines will make of this album a delight of those who are fans of the genre, with more than an hour of pure Electro-Gothic Wave, The Crüxshadows show us that they have what it takes to make it on the scene.
My specialty is Heavy Metal, but that doesn't mean that I can stroll down other genres, a genre that has influenced so much the actual Gothic Metal scene, Ethernaut is a must-have for any decent fan of those catchy eighties rhythms.
