01. Broken Dreams
02. Emotional Daze

Unemotional Gothic Metal

Triarchy is a newcomer from Brazil, a country that is spawning more and more bands lately, some with excellent quality. The band in question is a sextet that dwell in the Gothic Metal arena, genre that is sadly overcrowded nowadays. Can Triarchy can compete with the European Gothic bands that count with the proper financial support?

This is the first effort ever recorded of the band, a Demo Cd containing 2 songs and longing about 12 minutes approximately.
The band counts with 3 vocal approaches, female vocals, clean male vocals and growls, some choirs can be found on the second song too.

Both songs are mellow, mid-paced pieces with some Doomy overtones on them, first song "Broken Dreams" is slow and frankly, quite dull, first and title song "Broken Dreams" is slow and frankly, quite dull, not much innovation or variety, and for a almost 7 minute song, that's serious. Next song, "Emotional Daze" is quite an improvement from the previous, this song is quiet catchy and the vocals find their way and manage to appear whenever they're needed, creating a nice melange of vocals. This song is shorter and more up-tempo than the latter, and keyboards play a fundamental role, and we even get some blast beats!

So I have a Demo with one great song and one boring one, by mathematics this album should receive a 5, but counting the effort put on the presentation, which is quite professional, I'll throw an extra point here. Even if the rating is 6, I'm not completely pleased with this effort, hope that next time these guys pull their act together and show us something worth listening.
