I don't know really what to say about this band, I mean, look at the cover art, it may look cheesy but in the other side draws attention, maybe is because the vivid colors displayed on it. For your information, the cover was done by Geoffrey Gillespie, responsible of most of the covers of Doro and Warlock.

Musically Eternal Flight present us a very catchy form of Heavy Metal with Progressive undertones, the music uses modern elements mixed with some from the eighties.
The debut album of this French combo is quite good actually, but the first impression wears off after a couple of listens, mainly because the lack of surprises in the songwriting department.

The vocals remind me of many eighties bands, Gerard Fois does a good work in the vox department, while not too aggressive he can hold some high notes even if some times he recurs to the infamous falsetto technique. As for the instrumental part, I thought that more aggression was necessary, some songs like "Back Into The Light" bored me, while songs like "The Mask Will Fall" and "Morphoenix" kept me wishing for more.

"Positive Rage" is a release that I will go unnoticed I fear, it doesn't have what it takes to become THE Metal album of the year, but fear not, is not a bad album either, is pretty enjoyable, but that's it. Fans of the genre will like this a lot, I'm sure of it, as for the rest of Metalheads, try a couple of songs before buying.

Eternal Flight is born from the ashes of the regretted Heavy Metal band from France Dream Child. After the split-up of the band in 1999, the singer Gérard Fois decided to follow his way and to work on a new project. In 2001 a new combo is born, its name, Eternal Flight. After a demo, the band releases it first album "Positive Rage" a subtle mixing of Power metal with some really important Progressive parts. In one word a real classy band?
