England, home of many fine Heavy Metal bands like Iron Maiden and Saxon, but also home of a thousand Hardcore and Nu-Metal bands. I wouldn't be surprised if someone said that England got the most Nu-Metal/Hardcore bands in Europe.
And here's another one of them, with a quite cool name, The More I See.
But what does The More I See got that others missing?
The More I See was formed by the former Prodigy guitarist Gizz Butt, that also driven the band Janus Stark.
He putted together a band that contains except Butt himself on Guitar and Vocals, Gavin King on Rhythm Guitar, Lee Churchill on bass, Chad on Vocals and the drummer Alex Cummins.
They recorded and released a 5-track debut CD in 2003 and released it through an underground German label, called Modern Noise.
It was evidently good enough to get signed by a major label (SPV), and now less than a year later, the real debut is available.
And as you might know, I don't like either Nu-Metal nor Hardcore, so this is absolutely not a release for me, and it grieves me a lot that I have to review it. But I'll have to use my Reviewer-perspective again, I guess.
One thing that hit me the first time I heard the album was, something that others missing, there are actually some Metal in here. I would guess that they are quite influenced by the old American Thrash scene.
That mixed together with today's Hardcore from England, that's a very good explanation of what you have to expect if you decide to look this band up.
"The Wolves Are Hungry" contains 12 songs, 3 of them was on the 5-track album they released last year, that means that there are 9 new songs.
A proposal I can give you is that you'll listen to the first 3 songs, do you like them, then this album might be something for you, but on the other hand, if you don't like them, don't waste your time, because the chances that you'll like this band is very small.
If I shall pick out some songs that I think is better than the others, I would chose "Suck on There Words" that's got a really good start. "Paralyses" and "Chez Wrong" that I think sounds like Red Hot Chilli Peppers in the beginning, hehe.
But so be honest, there are no songs that are worth killing for everyone is quite equal.
But as I said, are you a fan of Hardcore/Nu-Metal, try a song or two and see if you like it or not. But to all real metal fans, you can easily forget about this album and live a happily ever after, because I don't think you'll find anything interesting here.
Check Out: "Suck on These Words" & "Paralysed".
